No matter what age you are, well all need some help from time to time. And, it’s always important to help those in need of a hand. A sweet moment at the Appleton International Airport in Wisconsin can show us all how rewarding receiving and giving help can be.

Nancee Lingg, aged 82 was exhausted after a long flight.

Flying alone, she was struggling to get her heavy luggage off the flight. Fortunately, a kind stranger jumped in to help her with her bags. She took note of his tall stature, but didn’t think much of it.

She had been promised a wheelchair and someone to help her out of the airport. But upon leaving the airplane, there was no assistance and the wheelchairs were not ready to be used. Again, the stranger from her flight appeared. He unfolded a wheelchair and volunteered himself to help guide her through the airport.

Nancee allowed him to push her wheelchair, but she still didn’t know who he was.

As he wheeled her through the airport, they surely had a lovely conversation. But it took a while for Nancee to realize she was having a celebrity encounter.

Upon noticing the man’s Greenbay Packers tags on his luggage halfway through the airport Nancee asked if he played for the team. Once asked, this kind man confirmed he was a team player and identified himself as running back Aaron Jones! He graciously posed for pictures and then went his own way.

Plenty of people noticed Aaron’s act of kindness.

It’s pretty hard to not notice when a pro football player is in the area, especially not when he’s helping someone’s grandma. The Twitter account “Momica” took a sneaky picture of him and posted it on Twitter praising him.

Twitter went wild, with unanimous excitement and approval at Aaron Jones being a true gentleman. One user aptly summed it up by saying “I’m a Bears fan, but this transcends sport.”

Eventually, Terasa Lingg Knuth, Nancee’s granddaughter who also picked her up at the airport, noticed the tweet, and responded with her own pictures and the proud comment “Thats my grandma!”

Even Aaron’s coach weighed in.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy was proud of his team member, but he wasn’t particularly surprised that Jones stepped in like this. According to Mike McCarthy, random acts of kindness are pretty par for the course among the Packers team. He released a statement saying:

“I’m thankful that everybody else is getting to see what I get to see pretty much every day. I mean, this is a tremendous locker room. We’ve been very fortunate and blessed with the caliber of character that we have in our locker room.”

For his part, Aaron was happy to help, and seems pretty used to practicing kindness.

Aaron stayed humble throughout this hubbub, saying “It’s just something that anybody else would do.” And it seems like this is something he does often. Aaron’s Instagram is covered with pictures of him doing charity work and posing for photos with fans.
