Cop hears girls are scared of him so he lays down to show his true colors

“Gotham has Batman. Metropolis has Superman. Wakanda has Black Panther. And South Hill, Virginia has C.B. Fleming.”

Corporal C.B. Fleming goes around without a black cape and mask.

He doesn’t have a utility belt with cool gadgets, but the neighborhood kids do call him Batman.

Because he is an incredible man.

The 42-year-old is famous with the kids of South Hill, Virginia.

A gas leak led Fleming to the area, so he spent the afternoon ensuring the kids were safe.

The affectionate nickname came from this special encounter.

Fleming responded to a call and got to Iesha Roper-Boswell’s home with a few emergency responders.

They made sure the house was safe before he began talking to Roper-Boswell.

The 28-year-old mother told Fleming that her daughter, niece, and the neighborhood kids were afraid of cops.

So he decided to make things right.

That conversation with Roper-Boswell had Fleming getting down on the sidewalk just so he could play with the kids.

So now the kids had a new playmate!

Roper-Boswell was surprised.

This amazing cop is a dad of four.

Fleming has four biological children and two adopted kids. He’s been serving with the South Hill Police Department in Virginia for the last 15 years, and it was always his personal goal to be a positive part of his community.

“It’s something I’ve always tried to do,” Fleming told WTVR. “When I got into this job, I knew there was something different, other than just writing tickets and being the bad person all the time. I figured if I could be that bright spot in someone’s day then that’s all that mattered.”

He chooses to be one of the good guys.

Fleming really is the positive part of the community.

“He’s awesome. That’s the only word you can really use to describe C.B.,” Roper-Boswell says. “It’s just amazing, the bond he has with the children. “For him to make my child feel like she’s safe, she doesn’t even have to call 911, she just has to call C.B. if she’s in trouble. I’m glad he made this part of his job. He’s changed my daughter and niece’s lives.”

Now that is how public service should be.

Plus he stays humble.

Fleming may not have a signal in the sky or an attention-grabbing rubber suit.

It is the same uniform as his colleagues but his attitude towards his job and others is what makes all the difference in the world.

The kids know it too.

Fleming enjoys interacting with the kids. It’s a genuine affection and not one for attention or social media likes.

The children, once afraid of cops, now love this man in uniform for all his efforts.
