Hilarious bulldogs play dead to avoid getting in trouble after trashing the house

Mia Delport has two adorable dogs named Oliver and Sophia.

She’s raised the sweet English Bulldogs since they were just puppies.

The family lives in Stellenbosch, South Africa, where Sophia and “Olly,” as he’s sometimes called, love getting into trouble.

Like all dogs, they need lots of exercise – and if they don’t get it, they tend to act out. But most of the time, bulldogs are known for being the ultimate couch potatoes.

In one incident – that quickly went viral – Olly and Sophia decided to do some damage to the house.

Whatever pent up energy they had was quickly taken out on some furniture.

Unfortunately, they’re not available to take the blame because…well, they’re “dead.”

At least that’s what they want mom to believe.

How could you possibly blame a dog who is clearly unable to even move?

You cant!

Or at least that’s what Sophia and Olly are bargaining on. They are experts at playing possum.

With both dogs down, how can anyone possibly explain this?

It looks like that basket just flew over and shattered, right?

As the camera pans back to the dogs, it’s clear that they’re willing to keep up this charade as long as mom is noticing and talking about the magically self-destructing furniture.

Of course, Sophia needs to peek every now and then to see when they get the all-clear.

See this footstool?

It clearly came like that. That certainly wasn’t a dog, right?

It certainly couldn’t have been Olly.

He’s the closest dog to the mess, but clearly far too incapacitated to have done it.

See how dead he is? SUPER DEAD.

Even with a nudge, these dogs are not giving up their game until they know they’re not in trouble.

After all, what’s a dog’s life even worth if they don’t get treats later?

As mom continues to ask “who did this?” they both remain belly-up.

But the game is getting old. They’re both fidgeting in the quiet moments even if they do manage to stay perfectly still when mom says their names.

Neither one is going to take the blame.

However, mom happens to know the secret word, at least for Sophia. She asks “who wants a snack?”

Well, it just so happens that she can be revived by that very phrase!

Olly is still down for the count, which makes us think he might just be the guiltier party.

But when two dogs decide to be in cahoots, there’s really no way of discerning which one is really to blame. These siblings stay on one another’s side through thick and thin!

We’ve seen a dog “play dead” before, but none had quite the acting skills of these two!
