10+ teachers share what it's like to teach online and their stories are hysterical

Teaching is a tough job. Educators have to cover a host of subjects and deal with students who aren’t always willing to learn. For them, every day ends up being a surprise. It’s hard enough when doing it in a classroom but things become more interesting when it’s online.

As you’ll see from these 12 stories, teaching students via the internet can end up with hysterical results.

1. Will they notice?

That would be kind of funny. Even better, this teacher should wear something super gawdy every day to see how long it takes for anyone to notice. Then again, there’s a good chance the students aren’t paying attention to anything, especially the teacher’s clothes.

2. It’s one button

All the students had to do was click on a link provided by this teacher. But somehow, that seemed like an insurmountable task. Come on guys, it’s one-click or if preferred, you can choose to fail. It’s up to you.

3. Sign up for another class

How on earth is a teacher supposed to fix this? Here’s an idea…perhaps the student should check out a computer course to take along with this class. What does this student expect…the teacher to reach through the computer screen?

4. It’s a lose-lose situation

This teacher can’t get a break. Good grief, they’re trying to please everyone and failing miserably. They should just call it a day and head to the nearest bar.

5. No connection

Once people go to college, it’s not uncommon for teachers to offer a friendly handshake. But with online classes, that’s impossible. How will this teacher get a good handle on their class? Maybe they can all do virtual fist bumps.

6. Crickets

It’s nice to see a teacher who goes above and beyond to connect with their students. But if they’re going to take this route, they might want to consider new jokes. Obviously, the ones they’re telling aren’t received well.

7. TMI

Now with the pandemic, an increasing number of students are taking classes online to ensure they don’t fall behind in their schoolwork. But they might want to consider which room they’re in when logging on. Just a suggestion.

8. Too funny

This is one way to give students a clue. After all, it’s Teacher Appreciation Week so a few donations via Venmo seem fair to us. But if this teacher has young students, they shouldn’t expect much, if anything.

9. Someone has too much on their hands

When you get an email from the principal about something like this, that individual has way too much time on their hands. Really? They took the time to write a teacher about $1.50. That’s crazy and funny.

10. Finding themselves

At some point, teachers retire. While some take lavish vacations, work on home improvement projects, or take up a new hobby, there’s one who does this. This teacher needs a life.

11. Someone’s grumpy

This isn’t very nice. Our advice to this teacher…maybe you need to go back in time and remember what it was like when you attended school dances. But then again if you never went to one, that might explain why you’re so grumpy.

12. Once a teacher always a teacher

Whether teachers are retired, still working, or staying at home during the coronavirus, they’re always teaching in their minds. Here’s proof. We’re sure this teacher would love to carry a red pen around to correct everyone’s mistakes. Who knows, maybe they do.
