Every birth is special and interesting but this one will give a rare experience because it will show you how an orangutan gives birth. It’s very rare to see clips like this. In fact, it was even the world’s first orangutan birth captured live on film.

A lot of people have seen it already. The number of its views even reached 4 million!

It was uploaded by Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust in 2013.

The orangutan in the video is Dana and there’s something very special about her delivery. The organization even described it as a “remarkable achievement”.

Why? Because of her unfortunate past.

In 2009, she had suffered complications and it resulted in a stillborn baby. It also affected her health and caused her to have blocked fallopian tubes. It also reached the point where she was considered infertile.

Her story will give everyone some hope!

Dana miraculously conceived again back in 2012 with the male orangutan named “Dagu.” There was also a person who helped a lot to her astounding pregnancy. It’s the head obstetrician at Jersey General Hospital, Neil MacLachlan.

The special moment was recorded.

When the baby orangutan finally fell into her mother’s hands. Dana carefully held her and gently removed the amniotic sac using her mouth.

“She’s starting to remove the amniotic sac,” one observer even stated.

The mommy orangutan was working hard to clean her newborn baby and even cleared its airways with her lips.

Many commenters also expressed their amazement and admiration for the loveable mama orangutan. The viewer also loved it that the father of the newborn baby was there watching the entire process. It’s like what we usually see whenever a woman gives birth – the father is there to strengthen the mom.

“I absolutely love how proud this mama was when she cradled her newborn & walked over to show off her new addition. Not to mention the proud Papa in the background! Ahhh, the beauty of life. P.s. I wanna thank you guys at Durrell for not intervening after the baby was born & letting this Mama do what she does best, be a Mother. Y’all are truly awesome,” the commenter wrote.

Another one also wrote: “That was absolutely incredible!!! Mother’s really are the most amazing thing in the whole world!! Without mother’s there would be no life!! Wow I just still can’t get over it that was awesome, amazing, incredible”

We’ve seen that giving birth is not easy for humans and also for animals. So all mothers deserve all the love and endless appreciation because of their strength to face such an excruciating thing.
