Owner abandons dog, leaving a heart-breaking note behind
Taking care of a dog is not easy, especially if you’ve fallen on hard times yourself. One dog owner had to resort to abandoning her pit bull, after the vet and animal warden, allegedly, wouldn’t help her. She left him at an Animal Hospital, alone and scared, with a tear-jerking letter asking people not to pass judgment on her.
This story will bring tears to your eye’s, the powerful letter is eye-opening!
Meet Fatty McFat, he’s a pit bull who was left behind by her owner who loved her, but couldn’t care for her anymore.
In a final act of desperation, Fatty’s owner left him under a shaded tree at Litchfield Hills Veterinary Animal Hospital. There was a long, heart-wrenching note attached to his cage. The note was explaining how she’d tried everything to find him a home, even though she’s now homeless herself.
“My name is Fatty McFat. I am aggressive only because I’m scared. My owner loves me very much, I am their life!” the note read. “My human went homeless and found out they have a disease and cannot care for me. Please don’t judge them. They tried to rehome me on many documented attempts. No one cared! Attempted the vet, they did not care! Call police, dog warden, did not care.” The note started out.
The letter continued talking as Fatty, it went on to express how much the owner loved their dog.
“I know my human loves because they were and are the only one who gave every attempt to save me, love me, and pamper me. It is not fair for me to live in a car which I have been for 2 months and my human cries everyday that they are sorry and love me.I am very, very overly protective of my human and will bite anyone who comes near them or I feel is a threat.”
The note talked about how Fatty’s owner went homeless due to his overprotective nature.
“My human went homeless due to my biting. All my human wants is for me to have a chance to be treated with care, dignity and love me no matter the outcome. My human is heartbroken and very sad it has come to this. No one would help.”
Luckily, despite what the owner thought, there are organizations like The Simon Foundation who took Fatty in.
Fatty is settling in nicely at his new temporary home. He’s having no problems as the aggressive dog he was described as by his previous owner, making you wonder if she was the reason.
“Fatty has settled in nicely to his temporary digs. He is wagging his tail and conversing with the other residents. He is doing well but is also eager for his Mom to pick him up and start their new life up North.”
