Owner completely cracks up when Siri understands dog’s vocalizations

The technology we use every day is enough to make our ancestors 2-3 generations back think that we are all magicians. Heck, even our toasters have “smart home capabilities” now. Toast is great, but it’s still just toast!

Things don’t look like they are stopping, either. We get “smarter” and more advanced with each new product release. Now, we even have little voices that can talk to us from our phones!

If you don’t know (and have been living under a rock), Siri, Alexa, and Google are all digital assistants. In short, they are AI devices that can think and gather data, answer questions, and do small tasks for you online. They are in all our phones as well as our homes through smart speakers.

This story isn’t about technology, however, it’s about dogs!

Don’t worry, we are getting to the dogs!

As our world and lives become more digitally connected, we find new ways to adapt and live with this new tech. From the looks of this video, however, humans aren’t the only ones doing that!

One husky shows us just how aware of technology our pets are!

In a video that has gotten nearly 2 million views, we see a husky interacting with one of those digital assistants, Siri. The husky is named K’eyush and is a stunt-dog husky who has a very popular YouTube channel. His owner decided to film him trying to talk to Siri, and the results are hilarious!

With an iPhone on a tripod, K’eyush says a few growling words.

Most dogs can’t speak – unless we are talking about huskies! Huskies are known for their ability to mimic human words. The breed is especially “mouthy” and loves to talk, even if it’s mostly gibberish. Occasionally, however, even a dog says a human word correctly.

Why Are Huskies so Vocal? Huskies are pack dogs with strong “pack instincts” howling and talking is their preferred method of communication to you and other dogs. Huskies also have a lot of energy, excitement and attention requirements which could also add to their vocal tendencies. – My Happy Husky

With Siri pulled up, we hear the pup say “hello” in a garbled, doggy sort of way.

AND THE PHONE RESPONDS! The reaction is incredible! We are literally at a point in history where we have machines that can understand what a dog is saying. The next step is to make collars that can translate what they are saying… anyone catch my reference?

Even after other attempts, Siri still interprets the dog’s voice.

It wasn’t just a one time fluke, either! They record for a whole four minutes while Siri goes off about the various things the pup is saying. Most of the time, Siri thinks that K’eyush is saying “hello” or “no.” Honestly, who are we to say he isn’t!

The rest of the video is the two of them having a blast and laughing!

Something about our dogs just makes us laugh! We can’t help it. Of all the BAD things that technology has brought us, at least there is one good thing: more videos of cute and hilarious dogs!
