Owner dumps scared mamma dog with 9 puppies in a church parking lot without looking back

Every pet out there should be overwhelmed with love, care, and attention – but it’s clear that some people just can’t take care of animals at all. This poor mamma dog can definitely relate, who was left behind helplessly at the church’s parking lot. To make matter worse, the four-footer was dumped along with her nine puppies.

Visitors of the North Side Baptist Church in Abilene were shocked when they spotted the five-year-old Boxer at the parking lot along with her pups.

The puppies couldn’t have been older than two weeks old, and still very much depended on and relied on mommy. However, you could just tell that her mamma dog had no idea what to do after being dumped by her previous owners.

Naturally, the four-footer was extremely frightened and had no idea what to do, and if no one would intervene, her puppies would almost certainly die.

Luckily, even though there are way too many horrible animal owners and abusers out there, there are also a bunch of people who rescue four-footers on a regular basis.

Someone snapped a picture of the poor pooch and posted it online, and it didn’t take long before it captured the attention of the Paw Angel Animal Rescue organization. Crew member Mistie Boerger just knew that they needed to help this mother dog and her puppies out, so that’s exactly what they did.

“I saw the picture and it just broke my heart and I called Angel and we went and rescued the dogs,” Mistie said to KTXS 12ABC.

“I just don’t know how someone could do that, leaving momma and two week old babies,” she added.

Along with her co-worker, they headed towards the parking lot to check if the animals were still there.

Thankfully, they were able to find them rather quickly and managed to get them in the back seat of their vehicle to bring them back to the animal center.

Who would even do such a thing and leave your pets and newborn puppies out to die on the street, instead of taking them to a shelter? Understandable, all of the four-footers were scared and frightened, and they had some bad news from the vet too.

Mom needed medical attention and a severe check-up at the vet, but it was one of her puppies who wasn’t doing too well at all.

Doctors diagnosed her with some kind of cancerous disease, and the small four-footer was developing a tumor in his throat. He had to be put to sleep.

A few days passed, and the mamma dog, who was later named Dory by the staff, and the rest of her puppies were doing fine and seemed to calm down.

These furry friends still needed a home, but Mistie decided to foster them temporarily while they tried to find a more permanent place to live.

After they’re neutered, all of them will be put up for adoption.

“They will be staying with me for two weeks and then moved to a permanent foster. They will placed for adoption after they have been spayed and neutered and mom is spayed,” she posted on Facebook.

The rescue organization also posted their story online and hoped to raise about 2,500 dollars for food and medical costs.

“It’s looking like the total cost to get all ten dogs all the way to September and adoption will be around 2500,” a staff member commented on the Facebook post.

At the time of writing, over a thousand dollars were already raised, and they’ll keep a small reserve in case any unforeseen medical circumstances occur.

It’s an absolutely terrifying thought that someone would just dump these poor pups and their mom on the street, but their life certainly is looking a lot brighter now.
