Cats are clever creatures- everyone knows that! They are also super agile, so they can reach places other pets normally wouldn’t- such as shelves or kitchen counters.

Sven is the proud owner of Mulder the cat, but they seem to be having a problem at home. Mulder has the tendency of opening doors, even when Sven has made it clear he shouldn’t.

It all started when Mulder was 5 months old, and Sven was wrapping chicken in the kitchen. The kitten was so curious to see what the man was up to- or was just hungry, or, most probably, just wanted to annoy his owner- that he kept jumping onto the counter. Sven decided to end this by putting him in the bathroom for a while, but Mulder kept getting out every single time!

“The first clip is from January,” Sven wrote in the comments below his Youtube video. “Mulder was 5 months old. I was wrapping chicken and I needed him to stop jumping on the counter for a couple minutes, so I tossed him into the bathroom and closed the door.”

However, this didn’t stop Mulder and a few moments later, he was out. So Sven took his camera and recorder the cat opening the door- as he admitted, it was kind of scary. Also, it was the first time Mulder had done something similar.

Later on, and as Mulder was growing, he kept opening doors when he was not supposed to, so Sven decided that something had to be done about it. So, he thought to himself: “What do cats hate the most?”- water, of course! So he placed a large tub of water underneath the doorknob so that the cat couldn’t go close to it.

But, apparently, Sven had no idea what a determined cat can do. Eventually, he saw his cat opening the door again. Then, he decided to catch on video how on earth the cat managed to overcome the wet obstacle.

In the video he uploaded on Youtube, we can see Mulder jumping from a different angle, and after the first unsuccessful try, he manages to catch the knob and lower it just as much as it needs to open the door, then lands safely on the floor. After that, he jumps over the tub and gets out of the room.

Both his owner and the Youtube community was left speechless with the acrobatic skills and the cleverness of this cat, so much so that they started making jokes about it in the comment section below the video.

“Just ONE question: Has this kitty figured out your computer password yet?” someone wrote, while another one commented: “Someday you will open your visa bill and find $436.92 worth of catnip and treats.”

Undoubtedly, Mulder is one smart cat, and Sven is lucky to have won his heart. We’re wishing the two friends to always have such fun together and we’re curious to see what Mulder will come up with next!
