Wooden pallets are for more than just holding things on top of them. They are also handy when it comes to projects around the house. From furniture to decorations for the yard, with just a little bit of work on your part, you can have something cool for your home.

Here are some cool ideas for cheap pallets that can give your living space a unique look.

1. Umbrella stand

Start by making yourself a place to put a large umbrella for your outdoor patio. You can even add some flowers to give your area a little more color.

2. Cathouse

Take a few pallets and build a house for your cats. Just make sure that it is sturdy enough for your cats to jump and play on.

3. Wall

If you have a lot of pallets with no space between the slats, then you could make a rustic and unique-looking wall for a room in your home. The pallets do need to be sturdy for this purpose.

4. Shoe rack

If you have a bunch of wayward shoes, then organize them and place them into a shoe rack made of repurposed pallets.

5. Headboard

This headboard made of pallets even has its own shelf. Best of all, if rustic is the look you are going for, then this project has you covered.

6. Potting bench

If you like wine, then you could make a wine set like the one pictured. Not only does it hold wine, but also holds the wine glasses too. Now all you need is a corkscrew and you are all set.

8. Outdoor bar

To really make your backyard area unique, build an outdoor bar out of some old pallets. Now, you, your family, and friends can enjoy some time out back gathered at something you created yourself.

9. Wall garden

A wall garden can be a beautiful addition to your backyard or garden area. Just stand some pallets up on their end and line the inside of the pallets with black landscape plastic. Next, fill the space with dirt and add some plants by poking a hole in the tarp and sticking the plant in the dirt.

10. Another outdoor bar

Here is an outdoor bar area that took some master craftmanship to build. The whole area incorporates old pallets giving this area a very cool look.

11. Christmas trees

Some people are so crafty when it comes to building something from some old bits of wood. Take these pallet Christmas trees for example. They are perfect for decorating a home for the holidays.

Speaking of crafty, not many people could take some old pallets and make something as beautiful as this couch. This looks as good as some furniture that you can buy.

If you want a wishing well for your yard, but don’t want to pay the expensive price, then make one out of old pallets. When you are finished you can paint it any color you want.

14. Goat playhouse

If you have goats, then you know how much they like to climb. Fill that need for your goats by building them a goat playhouse out of old pallets.

15. Patio chairs

Sit back and relax in these nice Adirondack chairs made out of pallets. They are perfect for relaxing after working hard on a pallet project.

16. Couch with cushions

In addition to building a couch, you can also make some cushions for it to make your couch a lot more comfortable.

You can even make a whole furniture set for your patio. This includes benches and a coffee table to set your drinks on.

18. Kids’ beds

Make beds for your kids using old pallets. You can also place them into a variety of configurations. Make sure to secure them before allowing your kids to use them.

19. Tray

Another great project for some left-over wood from some pallets is to make a tray to carry around drinks and other items. You can also add some handles to make the tray easier to carry around.

20. Outdoor pool

The ultimate project would be to build a pool from some old pallets, which is entirely possible. As long as you have space in your backyard to build one.
