After Lamar LaGrone’s accident, he thought that he wouldn’t see a familiar face again for months. He was wrong.
Coronavirus has made life hard for everyone. But for people who are hospitalized, the stress is almost unbearable.
Due to social distancing, they do not know when they can see their loved ones again.
When coronavirus brought the USA to a standstill, Lamar LaGrone thought that he was one of the lucky ones.
Even though he was of an advanced age, he was healthy and able to weather the storm with his family. But that would soon change.
One evening in late March, Lamar was driving in rural Louisiana when he got into a horrific car accident.
Luckily, the first responders were able to stabilize his condition. They then rushed him to the hospital
Over the next few days, Lamar had to deal with extreme pain and discomfort. But the doctors were able to save his life.
But the accident was so bad that he would have to remain in a medical facility for a while. Lamar realized that it would be a long time until he could see his family again.
Eventually, Lamar had recovered a little, and it was time to move him to a rehab facility. But little did he know, someone had arranged a surprise along the way.
The paramedics came in to transfer Lamar. One paramedic started to take his face mask off. Lamar recognized the person underneath the mask.
Lamar’s son, Will, was standing in front of him. Will was a paramedic. He had arranged to be the one who was transporting his father.
Lamar began crying. It had felt like a long time since he’d seen any of his beloved family.
Then Will gave his father a hug. The medical professionals in the room started awwing.
The father then told Will that he loved him. Will said it back.
Luckily, someone was filming the moment when Will revealed himself to his father.
The footage then appeared on Facebook, where it became popular. To date, it has gained over 300,000 views. It also has more than 5,000 reactions, 2,300 shares and 500 comments. People have been saying things like this:
Will and Lamar then both traveled to the rehab facility. The long recovery would be hard, but Lamar had gained just a little more motivation to succeed, thanks to his son.
Will had also gained a lot of happiness. Due to his field of work, he had not been able to be in close contact with his parents.
Lamar is now recovering well. Hopefully, he will be able to rejoin his family soon.
No one knows just how long coronavirus will continue to affect our lives. Sadly, it has become apparent that it is not going away any time soon. Until it is gone, we have to look out for one another. And if you’re lucky enough to be able to be in close contact with loved ones during this difficult time, then you should appreciate that fact.
