Parents raising 12 kids and working multiple jobs amazed at “Christmas miracle” from stranger
We all love Santa Clause.
And we are super excited every year as we wait for our gifts to be delivered by Rudolph’s owner, but what’s even more exciting is receiving a gift when you least expect it.
Like, a surprise from a Secret Santa you had no idea even existed.
Every year since 2015, an anonymous businessman from Idaho makes sure he spends more than $500,000.
Lately, he’s even been spending more than $1 million to give deserving East Idaho residents what they need most, depending on their stories and background.
This was Ben and Misty’s blessing.
The couple, who have been married for almost 20 years, have 12 children together.
Many of them are adopted and, back in 2020, some were still in the process of being adopted by the couple.
Although the couple loves children and they have created a large family together, the expenses that come with a family of 14 can be overwhelming.
It takes a village to raise one.
At the time, Ben worked multiple jobs to provide for his family.
He used to wake up at 4 am and didn’t return home until 10 pm.
Misty worked in the evening, and she returned home at about 1 am.
But the couple never complained.
They just felt so happy when they saw the smiles on their children’s faces and they didn’t ask for anything more than that.
Well, maybe they wanted one more thing.
A new van.
You see, some years earlier, they had bought a van from a junkyard, but it was already old and at some point, it broke down and couldn’t be fixed.
Or at least it wasn’t worth it to have it fixed.
So, for months, it was just parked there in the family’s back yard, until they figured out what they were going to do about it.
But it turned out they didn’t need to do anything because Secret Santa had their back.
The East Idaho News team, or Secret Santa’s elves, knocked on the family’s door.
Misty answered and she was in shock when she saw the cameras.
She also called Ben to join her, while the kids couldn’t help peeping from inside the house.
Nate Eaton of East Idaho News started giving them their presents.
And the presents kept on coming.
When they saw the $10,000 worth of certificates that allowed them to go buy any piece of furniture they needed, they just couldn’t believe it.
Ben was holding back his tears.
Little did he know that, soon enough, he would be crying his eyes out after seeing the second gift.
Nate asked the whole family to join him outside. Moments later, they saw a brand new 15-seat van waiting for them in their backyard.
Misty, who came out with no shoes on, couldn’t stop screaming and crying.
Ben had to be comforted by his older children- he was just overwhelmed.
Once they were all on board their new van, they couldn’t express their gratitude in words.
They were speechless and beyond happy.
This must be a Christmas surprise they will never forget.
