Pastry chef plays with food to make brilliant mini scenes that will have your mouth watering

Everyone loves a well-made pastry, but how about a pastry that is also a miniature work of art? That is Italian pastry chef Matteo Stucchi’s specialty. The man has been working as a chef for over 26 years, and in that time period, he has been able to turn baking delicious desserts into an art form, literally.

All of his creations feature a beautiful and tiny slice of life.

After you see some of the pictures of his pastries for yourself, you’ll understand what we mean.

For example, this one that showcases a bunch of tiny people watching as fruits fall from the sky and land on a tasty-looking tart.

Stucchi thought of everything. His attention to detail is nothing short of incredible and we can only imagine how much patience and dedication it takes to put something like this together.

“Today, August 10, here in Lilliput we are all nose up to see the swarm of falling stars, sorry, falling fruits ahaha,” wrote Stucchi.

When Stucchi says “Lilliput”, it’s in reference to the fictional island from the 1726 novel Gulliver’s Travels written by Jonathan Swift. In the story, the island of Lilliput is inhabited by thousands of miniature people that are one-twelfth the size of normal humans. Gulliver is washed onto the shores of the strange land after a shipwreck and is viewed by everyone else as a giant.

Another image features a backhoe scooping out ice cream and placing it in the cone.

It’s pretty hilarious when you think about it. Little men with hammers and shovels can be seen crushing pistachios on the side to place them on as toppings.

Once a week, Stucchi shares a new photo on his Instagram page of his amazing edible art pieces, and his fans are in complete admiration.

According to Stucchi, “a dessert’s looks is just as important as its taste”.

It’s something that a whole lot of people agree with. Currently, over 200,000 individuals across the world follow the weekly postings.

“Carnival has passed but here in Lilliput the collection of castagnole with ricotta never ends,” Stuchhi wrote.

Castagnoles are a type of Italian sweet dough balls that have a crunchy exterior and soft and gooey ricotta center.

How they actually taste is anyone’s guess, but the pictures certainly look amazing.

We have to say though, this is the first time we have ever seen them in tree form before!

In this image, the residents of Lilliput can be seen laying the foundation of a cake.

It’s essentially like tiling a floor, except the grout is a made from icing and the tiles are pieces of chocolate. It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it. If we were working on a project like this, we can almost guarantee nothing would ever get done. We would be way too busy sampling all of the construction materials.

As you scroll through Stucchi’s Instagram, the photos keep getting crazier and crazier. Every single pastry is just so super whimsical and creative. Where the chef comes up with all of these awesome ideas, we have no idea.

However, if one thing is for sure, it’s that his desserts are among the most impressive we’ve ever seen. Just like Stucchi’s Instagram fans, we just can’t get enough of his delicious and brilliant mini-scenes.
