Man cuts in line when he sees military members, pays for their meals

Military members put themselves through extensive training for the noble cause of effectively protecting the country. So it makes sense that some of us civilians strive to show gratitude for their service.

There are many ways to show gratitude. It can be as simple as seeing a veteran in public and saying “Thank you for your service,” or it can be something more complex and heartfelt. A great example of a grander gesture is what one diner at Jack’s fast food restaurant did for the army men and women lined up for breakfast at the diner one morning.

Breakfast on me

The heartfelt event was captured in a photograph by another patron at the Jack’s in Holly Pond, Alabama. The said patron then shared the special interaction on Facebook. The bystander, Levi Lawrence, stated that he watched a man who was in line for breakfast notice the group of military men and women in uniform standing in front of him.

He then reportedly cut to the front of the line and offered to pay for all of the soldiers in meals. As stated by Levi’s post, the considerate stranger ended up buying twelve meals, in addition to the ones he bought for his own family.

Although it wasn’t confirmed where the military members in uniform were stationed, there are no known bases in any of the nearby towns, so they were likely passing by.

Extraordinary character

Since being posted online, the photo has made its rounds on Facebook and has accumulated attention from people all over the country. Already it’s been shared thousands of times.

Due to the amount of attention this act of kindness received, the initially anonymous bystander was identified by the people who saw his picture and read the story. According to those who know the man named Jeremy Williams, the deed is indicative of his generous character.

Although he wasn’t tagged in the original post, Jeremy still garnered plenty of admiration in response to the photo that was posted on Facebook.

A Facebook user name Therese Marascalco, wrote:

“This is an example of what this world needs more of! Thank you, sir, for such kindness!”

Another Facebook user named Brenda Smith commented:

“Thank you, sir, for your kindness — very nice gesture for servicemen. God Bless you and your son!!!!”

And Sheila Howard Drake, another user, wrote that she and her grandchildren were present witnesses at Jack’s when the event unfolded.
