Singing a classic hit takes a lot of guts because it can be a double-edged sword.

These classic hits are songs that have already made a mark in people’s minds and hearts and cemented their legacy in the music industry.

Covering a classic hit can indeed make or break your singing career. Plus, people can comment so rudely on social media!

But once you do it perfectly, people can’t help but praise you.

Either you sang it perfectly, just like the original, or you gave a spin of it that people were so pleased to hear.

After all, some (good) change is welcome occasionally.

Casi Joy earned people’s praise when she did a cover of Patsy Cline’s “Crazy.”

You might be familiar with her from the NBC’s hit reality singing competition The Voice Season 12, where she garnered a four-chair turn (and one of the best one ever!) during her blind auditions.

But her singing career didn’t only revolve around the show.

She started her music career touring the opry circuit and has never stopped since.

Casi Joy caught the attention of Radio Disney, who signed her at the age of 14.

And guess what she’s been performing at a young age? Country classics! It’s not a surprise that she’s doing this Patsy Cline number.

Her rendition did not disappoint both her fans and Patsy’s.

Casi Joy’s signature edgy voice again brought life to a classic that not all people would do.

She started with the first note perfectly and easily shifted from that mid to low register.

Don’t you just love her low notes? They ring perfectly in the ear, don’t they?

Casi Joy’s voice always had the right embellishments for every song she sang.

You can hear her do some slight growls at notes that need an emphasis on emotions.

But what stood out from her rendition was that little yodel whenever she hit some of the high notes.

It’s not a full yodel per se, but you can hear it, right?

The video has more than 600,000 views and counting.

Fans loved this spunk country singer. And while she made a huge wave in The Voice despite being eliminated in the first week of live playoffs, she continued to entertain people through her online content.

Her online following grew by the day as she conquered every social media channel where she could showcase her singing prowess.

One fan said:

“No one can sing a Patsy Cline song as well as you do. She has always been a favorite of mine, as are you. You have a tremendous voice with great range. I wish you the best in your career.”

Indeed, her performance was lauded because doing this song was a gutsy move.

This Patsy Cline classic changed the sound of country music, and it has gone down in history as a favorite since then.

Technicality-wise, it routed itself away from the usual three or four-chord pattern, mostly major and seven chords. It was also more jazzy than country.

Watch and listen to her rendition, and you be the judge of how well she gave justice to this song!
