Woman whose life was recently upended flies across the country to get a dramatic new look
If you like makeovers, you probably already know about the famous Makeover Guy, aka Christopher Hopkins. He’s a former television personality and stage performer who now runs an “appearance studio” in Minneapolis.

Meet Phoebe
Phoebe came all the way from Vermont for her makeover – and she didn’t need a change physically so much as she needed a catalyst to feel better.
After moving out of the home she lived in for 49 years, the change was unbearable and she found it hard to cope. It made her quite ill, but she managed to recover. Sadly, at around the same time, her son passed away from pancreatic cancer.
“I’m feeling pretty good at the moment. I’m living day by day really and coping with a new way of life, “she told the camera.
A new look
Phoebe looks pretty great for 76! And it’s hard to imagine what Hopkins will go with hair and makeup to make them look so different.
But when we saw Phoebe in the after photos we were stunned!
Better yet, so was she:
“Wonderful! Absolutely wonderful! I feel rejuvenated, really. I’m so confident with Christopher’s expertise. I’ve watched many videos and I just think he gets it,” she said in the “after” interview.
Phoebe got the works – hair, makeup, and clothing styling advice (which often comes from Hopkins’ very own mother!).
Commenters were flabbergasted:
“She looks beautiful, and I completely understand why he asked her to say her age…..she looked 30 years younger!!!!! What a boost!” said one women.
Yowza!
The hair alone is an epic change as Phoebe’s steely grey is transformed into a medium strawberry blond.
“I had a wonderful day today,” Pheobe said. “Absolutely wonderful! I feel rejuvenated really. I’ve seen the transformations and now I’m actually realizing it. I feel like a movie star!”
She looks like a movie star too!
Big changes
Not only did she get a major color change but some serious volume and texture was added as well – plug bangs.
Having lovely skin to begin with, Hopkins’ resident makeup artist focused on contouring, especially on her cheekbomes.
Her eyes are what draw us in, though that involved getting rid of the glasses (at least momentarily). In their place are lightly filled brows, a bit of eyeliner, and plenty of mascara. It’s a stunning result.
“I’ve watched so many of these videos, but this is the first one I felt the need to leave a comment. OMG! You took 30 years off of her. She is STUNNING! I had to make sure I hadn’t accidentally switched videos because it just doesn’t look like the same person! And you can see how wonderful she feels about her makeover. I have lost 60 lbs with 50 to go, and an appointment with Christopher is going to be my goal reward,” gushed a commenter.
