Mom's photo of fiancé and ex-husband holding son's hand teaches valuable lesson

Families exist in so many forms, but occasionally, the most attractive ones are not the ones you may anticipate.

The blended family of 20-year-old Madison Holley captured the attention of the internet after she shared a picture of her fiance and ex-boyfriend beside her son and most recently newborn boy.

The photo shows how everyone gets along.

Her ex-boyfriend Tyler Mcilveen, 27, was shown in the viral photo with their 3-year-old kid Cade and Madison’s fiancé Cody Pietz was pictured holding their newborn baby Waylon.

As they all left the hospital together, 24 hours after Holley gave birth, she decided to have this photo taken.

The image easily went viral.

More than 48,000 people shared the post, 45,000 people commented, and many of them shared personal family stories in the comment section.

Madison Holley had no clue she would ever get in touch with her ex-boyfriend after a terrible breakup. Madison and her ex-boyfriend Tyler Mcilveen split up shortly after Madison’s son Cade reached 2 years old.

But life is full of surprises.

“He’s always been a really good father, but I think emotionally we were in different places,” Madison shared.

Even after they split up, Madison and Tyler continued to raise their son Cade. Tyler’s 22-year-old girlfriend at the time, Karin Gray, encouraged the two to develop their new friendship for Cade’s sake.

She owes it all to her ex’s girlfriend.

“She’s the reason why everybody turned out the way it did. She helped us all be civil. She helped me to be able to speak to Tyler again after we broke up,” Holley fondly recounted.

The connection between the blended family began to take shape in large part because of Gray. She asked Tyler, Madison, and Cody to spend Easter with her and gave the three some advice on how to co-parent.

Karin is also grateful for Holley.

“She cares so much for her boys,” Karin remarked. “I love the new family I have acquired despite our rough start, and I hope Tyler and I have kids that we can all get together as a family.”

Behind Holley’s lovely blended family’s happy dynamics was the challenging process of co-parenting with Tyler. The ex-couple is now on good terms as they face the new challenges of parenthood after spending Easter together.

The internet adored their story.

Madison’s outstanding approach to parenting and forging a cordial connection with Tyler won over the hearts of internet users.

Tyler and Cody’s affection for her boys was expressed in the picture she uploaded. Holley has received fantastic stories from other blended families ever since the post went viral.

Co-parenting may be difficult and more stressful than one might anticipate. Holley, however, underlined the significance of communication in the process.

“Basically, communication is the biggest thing. We’re honest with everything about Cade, and that’s really it,” she said.

With the correct attitude and support system, co-parenting may be made simpler. This is especially true when you prioritize the happiness and welfare of the kids. Nothing is impossible.
