Most of us enjoy a good manicure, but not Ginger. This drama queen will do just about anything to avoid getting her nails clipped.

Minding your dog’s nail is an essential part of their care. Untrimmed nails can break or bleed, and if things get really out-of-control, they can even curl back around and grow into their feet, which is very painful and affects their ability to walk comfortably.

Because some dogs don’t enjoy this kind of grooming (especially if they weren’t trained properly), we often hire professional groomers to do the deed. And perhaps that would have been a better option for Ginger.

Ginger’s newly-minted status as the “World’s Most Dramatic Pit Bull” began on Reddit when a user posted a woman’s attempt to clip the dog’s nails. The video has now been shared on nearly every social media platform, accumulating millions of views in just a few months.

That’s because we know Ginger is just fine – there’s no pain here. She just likes to bust out the theatrics.

The video begins with her mom giving her some love to chill her out. But as soon as the pup sees those nail clippers, she side-eyes the camera.

“I love how she just stares directly into the camera, barely even blinking,” said one viewer.

She knows what’s coming and she’s NOT happy about it.

After giving her mom an epic “how could you do this to me?” look, it appears Ginger is going to resign herself to the inevitable.

Resistance is futile.

Mom grabs her hand, gently – this has to get done for her own good.

Alas, Ginger tries the cold shoulder, hoping that it delivers the hint that she’s not going to take this lightly.

As the clipping begins, Ginger simply can’t believe her tactics didn’t work. She’s overcome (with what, we don’t know).

It clearly doesn’t hurt or else we would hear some yelping – Ginger’s just not pleased. She begins to tilt her head back dramatically.

She simply CAN’T EVEN anymore, as she falls to the floor.

Things hit peak drama when Ginger pretends to faint and lays there as if unconscious from the sheer betrayal.

Except her eyes are open – it’s all a ruse.

“I nominate this dog for ‘Best performance by a lead dog in film’ in the doggie Oscars,” joked one viewer.

We’re not sure what the pit bull is thinking right now, but mom’s not buying into the antics and continues to clip away.

Little does Ginger know that her “fainting spell” only made it easier to clip her nails!

One version of the video that was uploaded to YouTube has been viewed nearly 10 million times in less than a year. But that’s partly because people found Ginger so hilarious that they couldn’t stop replaying it.

“I’ve seen this about 20x still makes me laugh. Ginger you’re the best!” said one commenter.

And it’s not just Ginger who tries to use this tactic to get out of a nail clipping. Commenters on Reddit chimed in with similar stories:

“I have a Rhodesian, when I cut her nails (which are more reminiscent of dinosaur talons) she acts as if I am removing her liver through her nose. She howls, jumps, pulls and needs to be held down. After we are finished she licks her feet for the rest of the night while giving us all serious side eye.”

Of course, no dogs were harmed in the making of this video. It was all an act from one seriously goofy girl.
