Pit Bull rescued from a dog fighting ring is given his first snack, and ‘loses his mind’
Although people today know how badly dogfighting affects dogs- both physically and emotionally- and even though it is banned in many countries around the world, there are still people who illegally organize dog fights.
In order for dogs to participate in these “games” pups are bred and trained exactly for this purpose, and the poor puppies spend their early years in suffering. As the Humane Society explains, their upbringing “relies on abuse and mistreatment from puppyhood”.
Now, imagine how these dogs that have grown up in misery – and the only interaction they have known with humans involves abuse – feel when they are rescued.
One of the lucky pups to be rescued is Finn the pitbull.
Finn was rescued by the ASPCA, he was taken care of and then passed on to an organization called Plenty Of Pitbulls (POPB). The people there treated Finn with great love and affection and when he was ready, he was given to a foster home until the right family was found to take him in forever.
After a while, he was matched with a family that would give him his forever home.
Indeed, he soon joined a couple who already had two cats and three dogs. Finn couldn’t be happier.
After the necessary time of adaptation to the new environment, Finn made friends with all the members of the family and soon started feeling as if he’d always been part of it.
In the video that follows we can see Finn being given a treat for the first time and his reactions are adorable.
The pooch had never been treated with love and affection before, so when he was given pizza for the first time – he couldn’t contain himself.
As you can see, he is given a piece of pizza crust and, when he takes it in his mouth he starts running around like crazy! He keeps running in circles and wagging his tail and he doesn’t know what to do!
He’s overly enthusiastic about his treat!
And then, of course, he comes back for more. His mom gives him one more piece and he repeats his “happy dance” once more.
The woman is a little worried; she says: “You’re going to choke!” but he doesn’t care- he’s so happy that nothing can stop him from expressing his feelings!
The video has four million views, while it has been liked and shared thousands of times.
Facebook users loved it and were relieved to see that the dog can live a normal life after what he had been through.
“He loves that treat so much you could use it for a training tool and he could be taught to do anything. His reward is so satisfying it would be worth it,” someone wrote.
Another user commented:
” It does a heart good to see a dog formerly living on a chain have a life with pizza bone zoomies now!”
The Mighty Finn today has his own Facebook page, where his family shares his adventures and day-to-day activities.
The Facebook community loves him and his posts always receive lots of likes and positive comments.
We are glad Finn managed to escape an ill fate and is now happy in his loving home.
