Pit bull abandoned behind dumpster covers her rescuers in wet kisses
Rescue organization Hope for Paws has tracked down another pooch in desperate need of help. They chronicled the whole story on their YouTube channel, where they have over 5 million subscribers.
The rescue organization came across a scared Pitbull abandoned behind a fast-food place’s dumpster.
Cowering in a damp, dark corner, the Pitbull was left behind by someone. Who and why mattered little now. All that mattered was saving the poor dog, who deserved better than this.
Hope For Paws had rescued another Pitbull before, and this one behind the dumpster was very reminiscent of that one. The coat pattern and shy demeanor are most likely the reason.
And like they did with that earlier Pitbull (whose name was Buddha) they used a good old tasty hamburger to approach this one. When you’re scared and alone, being offered a hamburger feels pretty good.
After the Pitty munched down on the hamburger, it let them slip a leash on without much trouble.
Usually, slipping a leash onto a scared dog you don’t know is a risky move. But these people have done this countless times.
I can only suspect that the hamburger plays a big part in it.
They had to get the Pitbull out of here as soon as they could.
The garbage collectors were coming, and she couldn’t hide behind that dumpster while the truck picked it up. No one would want to accidentally harm a scared dog on the job.
Still scared, but slowly warming up to its rescuers, the Pitbull needed some more reassurance. No one knows how long she was hiding in fear behind that dumpster, and long periods of isolation can really affect a dog.
It was time to show the dog some physical affection, something she hadn’t felt in a while.
So pet and belly-rub the dog they did. This was working, as shown by the dog returning some kisses to the crew.
They named the dog “Kisses”, after those sweet kisses it gave when she was rescued.
Kisses now had a reason to get back on her feet. She had gotten food and affection after god knows how long, and that meant the world to a scared dog. It was time to start the next step. Rehabilitation at a shelter.
There, Kisses received a long overdue bubble bath complete with scrubs on her muzzle.
Judging from her body language, I’d say she enjoyed that bath very much.
She’s now a much happier dog than she was at the dumpster. No dog deserves to be left behind a dark, filthy dumpster with no friends. It’s clear that whoever left Kisses there didn’t deserve her.
With a newfound sense of love and playfulness, she’s ready to be picked up by the next caring and loving family that wants to adopt a dog. I pray that doesn’t take too long.
She’s clearly a very sweet girl who deserves a new home.
