Pit bull “drama queen” attempts fainting to avoid having her nails trimmed

Everyone knows someone who’s a bit dramatic.

Subtle isn’t in their body language at all, and everyone’s got to know what they’re feeling.

Some people just thrive on being extra. Most of the time, it’s because that’s how they’ve learned to interact with the world.

Drama queens shine when you do one of two things to them. The first is give them “no” for an answer, as some of us are familiar with.

The second is to ask them to cooperate with you.

And we’re about see a brilliant demonstration of that second one.

This Pitbull is about to get her nails cut. We can already see that she’s not prepared to cooperate, right from the start.

The lady clipping her nails tries to get her ready with some pets and gestures.

The Pitty, though, isn’t budging.

She holds up the clippers.

It’s like she’s basically saying, “Do you know what this is for?”. It seems like the dog knows exactly what it’s for, though.

The woman holds out her hand, asking the dog to hold out hers, and still no response. Well, you’re going to get your nails trimmed whether you like it or not.

To make things even funnier, the Pitbull glances at the camera reluctantly.

Like she knows she’s being filmed and finds it humiliating. Maybe the Pitbull just needed her attention grabbed.

So the woman tries again.

She makes a “Give me your paw” gesture, only to be ignored once more.

There’s no denying it now.

She’s giving mom the cold shoulder.

The real comedy starts when the woman presses on and starts cutting her nails.

Here come the theatrics.

Once the clipper touches the Pittie’s nails, the dog goes full on drama queen and pretends to pass out.

She doesn’t make it look very convincing.

Though that’s the least of her concerns. As long as it gets the lady to stop clipping her nails, it’ll do.

This whole ordeal can be avoided if you start trimming your pets’ nails when they’re young. It helps them grow accustomed to the process and learn that it won’t hurt them.

As soon as your puppy’s nails start getting a bit too long, you can begin teaching them “Nail trimming time”.

Lest they grow up and fake a faint every time they need their nails trimmed!

Checking back on our Pitbull, she’s not got up from the floor at all. In fact, it looks like she’s content on staying there. Dramatic is exactly the word.

And all this because she doesn’t want her nails cut. Well, let’s hope she changes her mind eventually.

Her nails are only going to get longer, and playing possum isn’t going to work a second time.
