For some of us, the idea of a strange dog jumping into our car and refusing to leave sounds like a wonderful experience.

For others, however, it might not seem as enjoyable, especially if they were in the middle of doing something.

Emily and Garrett found themselves in a unique situation one day when a Pitbull jumped in their truck.

“Excuse me, but this is our truck…”

The couple, not knowing what else they could do, tried to lure the dog out of the car with offers of roast beef. The dog wouldn’t exit the vehicle, however.

There was something about being in there that was important to him.

They noticed that the dog looked dehydrated so they gave him some water. After he had drunk some, they again tried to lure the dog out of the truck but he wasn’t budging.

Several hours go by.

Hours went by and the dog refused to leave the car. Emily and Garrett then determined he might be overheated.

They went and got a wet blanket to lay on him and cool down his body temperature.

It took a long time and many tries, but later that evening Emily and Garrett were able to get the dog to exit their truck.

They couldn’t just leave him, however, so they decided to take him home with them.

The couple quickly learned that this was a very sweet and affectionate dog.

They also realized that he must not have a home or family. Emily and Garrett fell head over heels in love with him and decided that he could become a member of their family.

The dog sure had picked the right truck to hop into.

In the time Emily and Garrett spent with the little guy, they developed a deep bond.

After all that time they spent trying to get him out of their truck, they finally realized they wanted him to stay with them permanently.

“I think we just got a dog?”

The couple decided to name the dog Buddy and give him everything he needs to be happy.

They purchased toys, spoiled him with comfort, and learned as much as they could about the newest member of their family.

Buddy is now having the time of his life living with Emily and Garrett. All 3 of them are likely so glad that Buddy chose their truck to hop into that day.

That one act is what made their family whole.

Buddy loves going on long walks, swimming in ponds, cuddling his family, and just generally enjoying life with his humans.

Emily and Garrett feel blessed.

Emily and Garrett would later say that they feel blessed that Buddy chose their truck that day. We’re certain Buddy feels the same way.

Numerous people who have watched footage of this story have felt compelled to comment.

“When he wouldn’t touch roast beef, I knew then and there he was serious about this whole “choosing this couple, and that’s it” deal. He was putting his heart out there and risking it all for love. I am so happy that it worked!” wrote one viewer.

“Dog was like: you will adopt me or you will adopt me. Make up your mind because I’m not getting out of here,” wrote another.

One viewer on YouTube has a theory as to why Buddy initially refused to leave the couple’s truck.

“The reason he didn’t get out was the last time he got out of a vehicle he got abandoned. You are wonderful, decent people,” wrote C Casey.
