Plastic bags were banned in Thailand - people find creative ways to get their groceries home
All around the world, people are coming together to reduce the amount of litter on our planet.
Thailand banned the use of plastic bags and the people have found some creative ways to get their groceries home.
Here are just some of their ideas!
1) Drawer
How convenient! Running behind schedule? Just grab a drawer out of a dresser on your way out the door. Just don’t forget to put it back! There’s nothing worse than a missing drawer from a dresser!
2) Laundry bag
This is a great idea! A laundry bag like this is so easy to carry on your back. You might even be an advertisement for the store, tempting potential shoppers with the goodies inside! A new job, maybe?
3) Trash bag
These can be bought anywhere. Why not grab a bundle and take one out each time you run to the store? They may not be the easiest to carry around but at least your groceries are hidden, if that’s your thing.
4) Motor vehicle
Buy as much as you want! Just toss it in your vehicle and you’re good to go. This is definitely ideal for families who probably need a lot more items.
5) Drawstring bag
A drawstring bag is as good as a mesh laundry bag. However, with this, your goodies are hidden. Unless your this guy… Don’t be fooled, it’s liquor!
6) Suitcase
The good ‘ol suitcase trick. Who wouldn’t want to drag a heavy load around as opposed to carrying it? Anything in a suitcase just feels a lot more manageable on wheels! Especially the suitcases with the wheels that rotate a full 360!
7) Homemade basket
This is a great way to save money and who doesn’t love that? If made durable enough, it can last you for years. Maybe you can sell some to your family and friends and start a business. If plastic bags are prohibited, this is a great opportunity!
8) Mop bucket
Hey, we do what we gotta do! It may be a hassle to carry around but it’s better than carrying all of your items in your hands. Good thinking!
9) Box
This could be tough. Particularly if the box doesn’t have any holes for handles. But as you can see, if there’s a will, there’s a way!
10) Picnic basket
Wanna go to the store in style? Take a woven picnic basket with you. There’s a decent amount of space for a quick shopping trip.
11) Bike cart
One of the handiest ways to get things from point a to point b. It’s almost as convenient as using a car. Of course, there’s exercise involved here but you’re not spending money on gas either.
12) Wheelbarrow
Ah, the classic wheelbarrow. It’s been around for quite some time. It’s easy to see why; it does much of the work for you. This is a classic that won’t be going away anytime soon.
The people of Thailand are determined to help cut down on litter in their country. Judging by what we’ve seen, they’re doing a great job. We can all learn a little something from their actions!
Which one would be your choice for transporting your goods?
