We all get tired sometimes, it’s just a fact of life… but have you ever been so tired that you slept through an entire event?

Well, that’s exactly what this adorable puppy named Brody did during his swearing-in ceremony!

Meet Brody, the new K-9 comfort dog with the Bristol Police Department.

From the looks of it, there is just one thing getting in the way of the precious pup becoming an amazing team member and contributor to the department; the little doggy can’t seem to stay awake very long.

Just look at those sleepy eyes!

Little Brody dog better wake himself up!

This is the part where he becomes an official member of the Bristol Police Department!

Apparently, although it’s an important moment in his life, nothing seems to be as important to this little pup as a nap. Brody dog slept through his entire ceremony, according to a story published by Unilad.

The gentleman holding Brody’s leash is School Resource Officer, Keith Medeiros, who will be Brody’s new dad and partner in catching the bad guys.

From the look on his face, it seems that the Officer is already having doubts about his new partner’s sense of work ethic.

Even if he’s starting his job off a little sleepily, congratulations are still in order for Brody!

The young dog did just score an important job in one of the oldest settlements in North America, after all.

He’d better learn to stay awake to catch the bad guys, though, if he wants to keep it. He wouldn’t be the first pup to be ousted from police work for not taking it seriously.

Overall, though, it looks like Brody is in good hands. We’re sure he will do just fine when the time comes.

Then again, the tired little dog has been caught sleeping on the job more than once already.

Somebody better get this little guy an energy drink!

Apparently, hard days at the office are extra tough on Brody.

Then again, wouldn’t you be exhausted after a full day of chase training, attack exercises, and sniff tests?!

According to Custom Canine Unlimited police dogs can undergo a wide variety of training in areas such as police patrol, drug detection, bomb detection, and scent tracking, to name just a few

“Police K9 training is very different from traditional dog obedience training in that these dogs take on an important and specific responsibility, such as drug detection, general patrol or bomb detection,” their website states.

According to Brody’s partner, the pup’s sleepy ways can make it a little hard to train him sometimes.

“He plays really hard and he sleeps really hard. When he’s not playing, he’s sleeping, which is kind of tough because he sleeps a lot,” says Officer Keith Medeiros in an interview with The Dodo.

The Bristol Police Department had originally intended on training Brody to become an explosives detection dog, but the timing of his arrival inspired Officers to give him a different position within the department; a therapy dog.

Brody first arrived around mid-March of this year, and even though he sleeps most of the time, he has still made a notable difference in the lives of his colleagues.

“People are really stressed, especially in law enforcement. Just by walking in the police department with Brody, people immediately smile, they immediately get into a better place. They want to pet him, want to hug him and it’s just a really good thing,” explained Medeiros.

Well, now, that just seems like the perfect job for Brody!

The best part about it is that the sweet dog doesn’t even have to be awake to do his job now. As it turns out, Bristol PD workers get just as much comfort from the pup while snoozing as they do while he’s awake.

He’s just that lovable!

Though his partner slept in through his swearing-in, Officer Keith Medeiros appears to still be very proud of his new little puppy partner.

Brody looks proud of himself too, with his head held high. Or, maybe he’s just trying to appear awake for the picture. Either way, we’re happy he managed to pull off at least one photo with his eyes open.
