If you are not familiar with the Git Up Challenge, it is time to change that.

There is an artist named Blanco Brown (real name Bennie Julius Amey III). He is a singer/songwriter/producer who has written songs for other artists behind the scenes.

He recently came out with his very own debut single earlier this year, which is called “The Git Up.”

It quickly went viral and garnered millions of streams and views. It features a fabulous blend of both R&B and country genres, and perhaps why it got so much attention is because there is even a dance to go along with it.

With the song came the The Git Up Challenge. It is where tons of people took to the Internet to post videos of themselves dancing to Blanco’s song. Some people keep it simple, while other people go all out, sometimes doing it in public or using props like cowboy hats.

All different types of people have taken to the challenge, too. Both young and old people have attempted it. Sometimes surprising people try it out too. In this particular instance, a police officer decides to join in on the fun.

You would think a police officer would not like to do anything fun or silly like this, but this cop wants you to know that is just not true. He can have fun and be silly too. And in this clip it is obvious that he is really enjoying himself.

The clip, which you can watch for yourself below, fittingly starts out with the police officer getting out of his parked police car. He seems to be in an empty parking lot.

“Finally got around to making this video,” he wrote in the description of the video on YouTube. “Was more fun than I thought it would be. Good vibes and have an awesome day.”

Just goes to show that this cop even surprised himself with this silly idea!

After he nonchalantly gets out of his cop car, he quickly breaks into full dance mode. He follows the moves perfectly with ease, swaying from side to side and most certainly “gitting up,” whatever that means.

It is not long until we realize that this police officer might just be having the most fun he has ever had in his entire life. He is smiling and laughing nonstop and can’t contain himself. He completely lets go as he dances away in the parking lot, spinning and whipping out every cowboy-esque move you can think of.

“His chief is watching his body cam wondering what the hell is he doin,” one person wrote on the YouTube video which is quickly going viral after its release on July 4.

“I love watching guys in their uniform dancing lol. This is a great video! To all the police in America: Thank you for your service,” another person wrote.

“Can I just speed by you one time so you can pull me over? I promise to not put up too much of a fight!! Hugs (and thanks for what you do to protect!),” another person hilariously joked.
