The internet surely loves its fair share of hypes and trends, and recently, the ‘Git Up Challenge’ is one of the most popular ones out there. The Git Up Challenge is the latest internet craze where people dance to Blanco Brown’s hit song, simply called ‘The Git Up’. It’s a catchy country rap song and the beat is ideal to bust out some moves. Not long after the song was released, the Git Up Challenge was born.

Over the past few months, hundreds of people have performed the challenge – ranging from construction workers, lawyers, bridesmaids, and some people even dance with their pets!

However, there is one person in particular who is winning the entire internet with his epic dance routine.

Members of the law enforcement engaging in internet challenges definitely aren’t new, and it gives us another look at the men and women in uniform who protect and serve. For the Git Up Challenge, there seems to be quite the competition going on between cops and firefighters – all of them want to have the best possible music video out there.

Officer Charlie Kingery’s amazing and hilarious video is definitely a top contender.

The officer works at the Lawrence Police Department in Indiana and was encouraged by some of his friends to join in on the ‘Git Up’ internet sensation and craze. Officer Kingery isn’t someone who backs down from a challenge – so he gladly accepted!

Still dressed in his police uniform, the man then busted out some moves at home in front of a camera, and it’s just absolutely electric and joyful to watch.

“Gon’ and do the two step then cowboy boogie. Grab your sweetheart and spin out with ’em. Do the hoedown and get into it (whoo, whoo, whoo),” the catchy lyrics go.

“Take it to the left now and dip with it. Gon’ throw down, take a sip with it. Now lean back, put your hips in it – (Whoo, whoo, whoo) let’s have some fun.”

You can tell that Officer Kingery has practiced and perfected this dance routine, even surprising viewers with a twerking session near the end.

The man posted the footage on his personal social media channels, but it didn’t take long before the funny video was seen around the world. It went viral on all social media platforms and viewers simply can’t get enough of this amazing police officer who’s in a cowboy dancing mood.

“AMAZING OFFICER!! I absolutely loved watching this video. Definitely the best one I’ve seen to date. The rhythm was on point!! Keep up the great videos and community service!! Protect & Defend” one person commented.

“I love when people with such serious jobs do fun things like this,” another added.

Some people even wondered how in the world this police officer could dance like this!

Luckily, local Fox 59 News managed to get an interview with Officer Kingery to answer that question.

“I grew up just enjoying dancing with friends and everything – and then my kids, one of the things we like to do is dance all the time in the kitchen,” he explained.
