With all that has been happening around us including the pandemic that changed the way we live our lives, we all want to cope as much as possible. Most of us are trying our best to adapt to these unconventional ways of living. We take care of ourselves and our loved ones, boost our immune system, and keep ourselves updated through social media and other channels.

Though social media is filled with bad news and it can be too toxic at times, it still lets us hear stories that will inspire and uplift us.

Just like this story of an 87-year-old woman from Florence, Italy.

Firenze Today reported this story that will remind you that kindness still exists in this world.

The retired woman was alone one night and the person who was supposed to assist her didn’t show up for an unknown reason. She knew that she could have called her son but she hesitated as she didn’t want to bother him especially financially, due to the economic crisis.

She wanted to do the things for herself and attempted to cook her own meal, however, due to her painful arm, she just couldn’t.

Clearly, she needed help.

Hungry and weak, the woman thought of a way to ask for help. She called the numbers 113 – which is the emergency telephone number in Italy.

She told the police about her current situation – that she was hungry and tired at that moment. Aside from that, she also explained that her arm is in pain.

“I’m tired and I’m hungry but I can’t cook because I have a bad arm,” she said.

The police accommodated the woman and asked her where she lives. They also assured her that they would do something about her situation.

The police were not lying when they said that.

Two officers immediately went to her house and found her inside her room. The woman had no idea that the guys would do something that would touch any one’s heart.

They could have bought food for the old woman but that is not what they did. What they did was something beyond buying her a meal.

Unexpectedly, the two policemen namely Antonio and Giuseppe cooked for her.

Yes, they were the ones who prepared the woman’s food in her own kitchen. They cooked tomato ravioli and served it to her. Fortunately, that exact moment was caught on the camera and the photo has been circulating online. It also moved many hearts.

Policemen like Antonio and Giuseppe are gems. They deserve all the appreciations as they are willing to go extra miles just to help someone in need. It’s like they knew that the woman was not just hungry but was also longing for someone who will take time to talk to her. Instead of bringing some food so she could eat, they just cooked for her and spent some time with her. They did not just fill her stomach with food but they also filled her heart with so much joy.

Way to go, Antonio and Giuseppe!
