People confused when 8+ troopers show up at kids baseball game until they see the “Pray” sign

We owe a debt of gratitude to the many police officers who help to keep our country safe. They often risk life and limb to keep the peace and apprehend suspects, forming a tight-knit community with other officers.

So, when Texas State Trooper Juan Rojas Tovar was shot while trying to stop a shooting suspect, his fellow officers were there to give Tovar and his family the support that they needed.

Trooper Tovar was shot while trying to apprehend suspected mass shooter 27-year-old Larry Winston Bollin after he killed a coworker and injured five others at his workplace in Bryan, Texas.

Tovar’s cruiser was hit with a hail of bullets, with 13 striking his cruiser, while one struck him in the eye.

Tovar was rushed to the hospital to receive treatment, eventually being flown to Austin. And while Trooper Tovar was ultimately released, he still faced many challenges and received additional treatment.

His condition did stabilize and he was released from the hospital the next week.

“Trooper Tovar continues his road to recovery, and we want to thank the community for their support,” the Texas Department of Public Safety said in a post on social media.

Unfortunately, Trooper Tovar was unable to attend one of his son’s baseball games due to his injuries. His fellow troopers stepped up to the plate, attending the game in his place.

Over a dozen police officers lined the fence at the field where the game was taking place and cheered on the team.

They were there to show their love and support for their fellow officer and his family, and it was a sign of the respect that they all had for Tovar.

In fact, the whole community has been there with Tovar every step of the way.

People at the field even spelled out “Pray for Tovar” using disposable, plastic cups stuck in the chain-link fence at the field.
