Some dogs like to hold grudges. Rodney the boxer is one of them. When his owner left him in the car for a while, he was pissed off.
Boxers are intelligent, curious and energetic dogs. Rodney is no exception. He just loves going on adventures with his owner.
But sometimes she has to leave him behind, and he hates it.
Of course, Rodney’s owner only leaves him behind when she has to go somewhere where dogs aren’t allowed.
The only problem is that there is no explaining this to Rodney! Inevitably, he’ll always be upset for missing out.
One day, the owner went to a yard sale. She had to leave Rodney in the car for a few minutes. And when she got back, the dog was more annoyed than ever before.
The dog was pouting and sitting in the driver’s seat. He wouldn’t budge.
So the owner tried calling out Rodney’s name a few times, but the dog wouldn’t make eye contact. Yes, he was that annoyed.
The owner then told Rodney to scoot over. At first, he stayed in the chair. Eventually, he got up and sat in the passenger’s seat.
Rodney sat up in the chair just like a human. He still refused to make eye contact with his owner. The owner asked if he was upset at her for leaving him in the car.
The dog still kept on ignoring her. So she called out his name some more. But the dog was determined to show just how annoyed he was.
Hopefully, he would get over his grudge in the near future!
Luckily, the owner was filming this moment. She then uploaded it to YouTube, where it has become popular. To date, the video has managed to gain over 360,000 views. It also has more than 8,500 likes and 700 comments. People have been saying things like this:
Of course, not every dog displays their annoyance as clearly as Rodney. But there are many ways to tell if a dog is upset with you.
For instance, one clear sign that a dog is mad at you is if their ears are hanging back. Yawning, licking lips, refusing to sit, being rigid, tucking in tails, showing whites of eyes, hiding, growling, raging, whimpering, groaning, peeing in shoes, staying out of arm’s reach and avoiding eye contact are other signs that a dog is upset with you or someone around you.
Boxers like Rodney may be stubborn animals, but they have many positive qualities.
Most boxers absolutely love children and become incredibly loyal to them. They were also one of the first breeds of dogs to be used in policing because of their loyalty. However, most boxers need lots of exercise. They need to have at least 40 minutes of walking every single day. Of course, there are pros and cons to every single dog breed. But Rodney’s owner wouldn’t change anything about her dog, even the grumpiness!
