Here is 1 powerful hack to keep spiders out of your home
There is nothing worse than waking up in the middle of the night, only to spot a spider hanging out on the ceiling. Chances are, after that, you ain’t going back to bed!
Or how about when you are in the kitchen whipping up a nice meal when all of a sudden…Boom. Spider. Or in the garage getting some work done and then boom…Spider. Nope! Thank you, next! Most people don’t like spiders, and unfortunately it is that time of year when the amount of spiders found in homes are peaking. Yes, we have got pumpkin spice lattes and apple picking adventures, but we have also got pesty insects crawlin’ everywhere! And sure, some people don’t mind the spiders, but a majority of people are just downright grossed out by them, or scared! Most people would choose to not wake up to the eight-legged creature in our face.
Well, what if we told you that there was a way to keep spiders out of your home for good? Would you believe it? You should! It seems too good to be true, but it is! There is luckily a hack for this little issue, and it is pretty genius.
This one shopper, who goes by the name of Sylvia Crawford, revealed her little trick in a post shared in Extreme Coupons and Bargaining in UK — better yet, it is cheap, effective, and humane.
Her anti-spider method involves an anti-bac spray and leftover mint leaves and for the most part, seems pretty simple!
One fact you may not know is that spiders do not like mint — it is one thing they have in common with a lot of other insects. So, knowing this fun little fact, Sylvia took it upon herself to put some leftover mint leaves in a spray bottle along with the small amount of cleaner that was left inside of it. Then she sprayed it around her doors and windows — the entry point for most bugs.
In the post that she shared, she wrote: “I watched the spiders run as I sprayed.”
She wasn’t killing them upon impact, she simply scared them away! Once they smell the mint, they are out of there.
Now, with this hack, there will be no need to constantly kill spiders or trap them inside your house since they won’t even be crawling into your house in the first place.
In addition to this remedy, there have been other ways that have apparently helped with getting rid of spiders. Like mixing equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle. To not kill a spider, you can spray it in an area they tend to go to — like doors and windows — to scare them from coming in. You can also spray it directly on the spider, but that would kill them as vinegar contains acetic acid, which burns them. You can also place small dishes of vinegar in small, dark corners to ward the bug away, once again, without killing them. So it’s still humane!
Will you try either of these fantastic hacks?
