We don’t know how many lives we touch when we choose to love.

This is the case with Valentine, and how these people helped her during the most important moment in her life.

When she first came to Brie, Valentine was very cautious and afraid. Her head was bowed down, and she couldn’t even lift her head to look at Brie.

Brie shared the heartbreaking moment with the animal channel The Dodo:

“When she first came here, she was very skittish. You could just tell how traumatized she was, and it was so heartbreaking.”

Brie might’ve been frustrated because even with the best intentions, Valentine cannot understand her.

Valentine just knows that she might be hurt or abused.

Fortunately for Valentine, Brie never gave up. To prepare for her birth, she made Valentine feel at ease in her home. She prepared a room for her and her puppies, just to make the expectant mother feel that she’s safe and loved.

At first, Brie tried to get Valentine’s affection by giving a dog cookie.

Sensing that Brie’s intentions were good, Valentine accepted. Their relationship just progressed from there.

It started out with Valentine not even glancing at Brie. But now, she would greet her with the biggest smile and wild tail wags.

It was clear that Valentine was slowly opening up much to Brie’s delight.

It took them around three weeks in this back and forth but it was all worth it – especially when the moment arrived.

One morning, Brie noticed that Valentine was a bit mopey. All she wanted to do was to lay down and rest. All the while, the puppies in her belly were squirming and moving. Brie suspected that she was about to give birth and sounded all the alarms.

But the puppies never came.

The next morning, Valentine was in her usual self. She was full of energy and was ready for another exciting day with Brie.

And then, Valentine started “digging” on her dog bed.

It might be a false alarm last time, but this time, she knows it’s real.

The morning after the labor, Brie narrated the experience:

“Momma did have the babies last night. We have six. We’re just taking the day to sleep and get our energy back.”

With six adorable puppies snuggled close to Valentine, we can’t help but think how these lives won’t even be here if Brie didn’t create a loving atmosphere around the dog.

It was a long and arduous journey, but it was a process full of love and support.

Brie taught Valentine how to trust, and Valentine taught Brie of her capacity to give.

Eventually, Brie had to give away the puppies to their forever homes.

Brie admitted that it was hard but they would not be here in the first place if it wasn’t for her actions. She finds comfort in the fact that these puppies will know love even at the beginning and will grow up as great family members.

In turn, Brie officially adopted Valentine.

Now, the duo spends their days together. They document their journey on Brie’s TikTok where Valentine shines like a star. Brie also shared that she will also open up her own rescue shelter to help more animals like Valentine.
