Pregnant stray cat invited into dog house by kind Pitbull to have her babies

The stigma that Pit Bulls are aggressive is widespread, but stories that challenge this notion are becoming increasingly common.
Such is the case for one Pitbull who recently displayed more compassion than we see from many humans⊠and to a cat no less!

Hades has not only defeated the stereotype of the mean Pit Bull, but also that of the unending war between cats and dogs.
Hades lives in Mexico with his owner Juan Jose P. Flores.
According to Flores, a stray cat has long called their neighborhood streets home. Despite never earning enough trust from the stray to touch her, Flores regularly placed food outside to make sure she never went hungry.
This kind act must have been a perfect example for Hades, who took matters into his own paws one afternoon when the stray needed a bit of extra help.

Flores was at home when he heard a knock at his back door, from where Hades usually hangs out on the terrace. His first guess was that it was a person knocking, but it was actually his dog!
Hades had some unique news for his owner.
âHe was desperate and making a lot of noise,â Flores told The Dodo.
Upon peering into Hadesâ dog house, he discovered that his dog had a visitor!

That visitor was the local stray cat!
As it turns out, she was pregnant and needed a safe place to give birth. Hades knew that his dog house was just the right spot for her and kindly allowed her to snuggle up in his blankets.
âI was very surprised,â Flores said.

Hadesâ compassion for the cat had only just begun.
As the cat went into labor, Hades stayed close by to keep her company and make her feel safe.
âHe dragged a blanket over to the entrance of his house and settled outside the door,â Flores said. âShe felt protected by him.â
Alongside the compassionate Hades, the cat gave birth to two magnificent kittens.

Comfortable in Hadesâ dog house, the new cat mom couldnât have been any happier with her precious babies.
Hades could rest easy knowing that he had done a very admirable thing.
âI think he felt he was a father,â Flores said.
Flores moved the new mother and her kittens indoors, where he and Hades could look after them better.
This was the beginning of a beautiful friendship between Hades and the cat, who is now named Nicol.

Flores said the two spend a great deal of time together when Nicol isnât busy raising the kittens.
When the time comes, Flores will find new families for kittens. Meanwhile, Nicol will always have a home with him and Hades.
He hopes that Hadesâ actions will inspire a change in the perception of this breed, and possibly inspire others to mirror the kind heart of the Pitbull named Hades.

âPit Bulls are good dogs,â Flores said. âHades set everything aside to help someone else. We should do the same without expecting anything in return.â
This is a heart-warming story that stands to inspire people to defy limiting stereotypes and to approach the world with love.
