Covering Stairway to Heaven is no mean feat. It’s one of the most acclaimed songs in the history of rock. But people all around the world have loved Jadyn Rylee’s version.

At eight minutes and two seconds, Stairway to Heaven is one of the longest rock songs to ever have become beloved across the world.

The song’s popularity is hard to fully grasp. For instance, though it was never released as a single, it was still the most requested song on FM radio in the USA during the 1970s. It’s still popular today, even with people whose parents weren’t even born when it was recorded.

Jadyn Rylee is a child musician. She’s been singing since she was just two years old. Over the years, she’s become ever more accomplished.

Her YouTube performances have become popular with millions of people. One day, she decided to cover Stairway to Heaven, not knowing what the internet would think of it.

Rylee’s performance begins with her softly singing the opening lyric, “There’s a lady who’s sure.” Her voice is filled with emotion beyond her years.

She continues with the opening verse, perfectly emphasizing every last note.

As the song builds up, Rylee continues to sing like a musician at the height of their talent.

Then, when the instrumentation gets going, the other musicians get their moments in the limelight. Everyone performing on this song is around the same age as Rylee. But if the video was just audio, it’d be impossible to think that these were preteen kids playing.

When Rylee and her band had finished recording, the video of the performance appeared on YouTube. It soon went viral.

To date, it has gained over 7.1 million views. It also has more than 68,000 likes.

While the video and its reactions are incredible accomplishments, Stairway to Heaven isn’t even Rylee’s most successful cover.

Four months earlier, Rylee released a cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s The Sound of Silence. This video has gained over 15 million views, more than twice as many as the Stairway to Heaven cover.

This performance has just as much emotion as the Stairway to Heaven performance. It also has the same drummer. Clearly, she collaborates well with Rylee.

Amazingly, Rylee has eight more videos with over one million views on her YouTube channel.

As well as covers, Rylee also writes and performs her own songs. These have also been well-received online. In fact, two of her million-plus viewed videos are performances of her own music.

And if she weren’t successful enough, Rylee has also started her own brand of clothing and accessories. A Jadyn Rylee t-shirt costs $25 Canadian.

Rylee lives in Toronto. Right now, she is unable to launch a full-blown music career, on account of still having to go to school. But it’s amazing to think that she has grown such a huge fanbase and made a business out of her name at such a young age. Who knows what she will achieve next?
