Usually, when principals go in front of their students, they make them feel nervous and intimidated. There’s the fear of getting scolded or reprimanded.

A principal from Lake Mary High School in Florida left her students quite surprised, though.

Instead of initiating a serious talk, Dr. Mickey Reynolds showcased her awesome dancing skills. She chose to do it during a pep rally in their school – it was carefully planned.

Mickey reached out to Kelly Lupis, the team’s coach, to share her idea of joining the performance. Kelly thought it was a clever idea and agreed. However, the coach didn’t want the school principal to just pop in and do a couple of steps.

She wanted to make her a part of the team’s routine.

Mickey wasn’t new to it. She actually graduated from the same school in 1986. During her years there, she was able to participate in the dance. Apart from that, her father also happened to be the school’s first principle. Mickey’s connection to the school wasn’t limited to just being its principal.

They were full of energy as they performed their routine. Each one of them was clearly enthusiastic about the performance.

With how well they delivered their performance, it was obvious that they invested a lot of time and energy into perfecting their routine.

Then, the principal joined them.

To the students’ surprise, Mickey wasn’t wearing her usual principal outfit.

She actually came out wearing the team’s uniform.

Frankly, the classic camouflage pants and team shirt really looked good on her.

At first, she wasn’t sure what her students would think. After all, they weren’t used to seeing her wear clothes like that.

Fortunately, her students thought she looked great. They cheered for her when they saw her appear.

She left everyone screaming with excitement!

When Mickey started stomping and dancing, the crowd went wild.

Clearly, they were surprised to see their principal busting some serious moves. They went crazy!

The team’s performance was recorded and uploaded on the internet.

With over 3.5 million views, it was an instant hit online. Several people shared positive comments about her and her performance.

One of them said:

Becky Godwin, the student who posted the video, shared her thoughts on the viral video and people’s reaction:

“Still in disbelief that my video has been shared & enjoyed as much as it has! So neat to be a very small part of something so big that has touched so many people! Our principal is a legend! I couldn’t be more proud to be a Lake Mary ram alumni and have current Lake Mary Rams!”

Mickey Reynolds is one brave principal. Not all principals would do the same thing she did because of fear. There’s the risk of getting ridiculed, laughed at, and booed. It was a good thing none of those things happened during Mickey’s performance. With what she did, her students will surely remember her for a long time – and so will we.
