Couple builds a mini pub in their yard during lockdown – neighbors stunned by handmade interior

Possibly the most simple, yet genius, solution for the issue of not being able to go to the pub while under quarantine: building one in the yard.
This may seem like overcompensating to some, but to the Crabtree family of England, it was a seriously good idea. All it took to break ground on this revolutionary project was a consultation with Amy, the mastermind behind Octavia Chic, and her husband, to draw up plans for their new garden pub.
Three weeks later the couple’s project was complete and picture perfect. The photos of the Crabtree’s garden pub soon landed on the Octavia Chic Facebook page and immediately took off.
They Began with an empty patio
The project began as all construction projects do. They laid a good foundation and fit it perfectly into the corner of the Crabtree family’s yard. It was all looking up from there, next the walls and roof!

The patio is not so empty anymore!
We can only imagine how awesome a time-lapse of this build would have been. Judging from the way those walls look, Amy and her husband have some serious construction skills.

The finished product is marvelous
When it was finally finished, “The Drunken Crab” looked spectacular. I don’t know anyone who would refuse to have a drink at a bar that looks like this.
When the world opens back up they’ll have a miniature business on their hands. Or they can keep it private and never have to risk going into public for a drink ever again!

Inside it’s even more impressive.
These photos put the interior of this garden pub into perspective. Why pack yourself like sardines into a public bar when you can just build your own sardine-can sized bar all for you? It may be small, but the privacy it provides is a huge upside.

The layout is extremely efficient.
Not far from the door there is booth seating, perfect for a small group.

And on the other side is a couples table right by the window. It’s perfect for a more romantic drink.

Of course, the bar itself has three stools with plenty of space.
These seats are ideal for when you need to be close to all of the options!

The pub is packed with everything a good bar must have.
Upon closer inspection, the Drunken Crab has also been outfitted with a ton of awesome accessories to keep visitors comfortable and entertained.

There is a coat hanger right by the door. It’s perfect for the Crabtree’s who have to make a trek all the way across the back yard in inclement weather.

And an electric fireplace to keep everyone warm, any time of year.

The bar itself is populated by enough types of alcohol to please any patron’s needs.

The Drunken Crab sign even opens to reveal a hidden dartboard!

Any regular bar-goer would certainly enjoy a trip to The Drunken Crab. Although it may be indefinitely invite-only, this is such a fascinating project that many people have reached out to Amy and her husband in hopes of having their own garden pub.
