Proud dad shares three photos online and is overwhelmed by all the attention they’ve gotten

Proud parents want to capture every special moment with their children before they grow up.

For CiarĂ¡n Shannon, he wanted to capture the special academic moments of his daughter, Niamh.

He did this with 3 photos.

There were three photos in particular that held special memories for them.

The first photo was taken during the first day of primary school in September 1999.

The second photo was taken on Niamh’s last day of school on May 2013.

And the third and last photo was taken when Niamh graduated from university in the summer of 2018.

All three photos were taken outside their home in Belfast, Ireland.

CiarĂ¡n and Niamh were holding hands and looking back at the camera. CiarĂ¡n’s wife, Brenda, always took the photo.

When CiarĂ¡n posted these three photos on his Twitter account, he had no idea it would blow up as much as it did.

His touching photos went viral.

“I’ve just been watching the numbers go up and up,” CiarĂ¡n shared. “It’s like watching the electric meter when the tumble dryer is on.”

The three photos, in a frame on their wall, used to only be seen by their family and friends.

Not anymore.

But this time, it’s different because it’s capturing the progress the father and daughter had over the years.

Niamh herself is a teacher now.

Niamh is now a math and science teacher and she was able to get there with the support of her parents.

One commenter thought the same thing.

“Seems like the obvious privilege is her father living on the same street her entire life, providing the literal foundation and stability to thrive,” D. Ryan Murphy replied to the Tweet.

Others who replied to the tweet said they did the same thing for their children.

These fathers cherish their daughters.

It’s good to know that the fathers were able to give this kind of memory to their children when they were younger.

They may or may not realize it but the fathers are giving their children a strong message.

They will hold their hands and support them and they’ll also let go of their hands so the children will be free to explore who they are and what they want.
