Cape May Police Department in New Jersey received reports of a runaway pug roaming around the neighborhood. The tiny culprit managed to escape from her real owners and was on-the-loose.

The dog was seen wandering around through yards on the 1300 block of New Jersey Avenue. A police officer had to take action and capture the unattended, smooth little sneaker.

Anthony Marino, Cape May Police Department chief, said in an interview that one of their officers picked her up and brought her over to the police station before things got ugly.

A Pugshot was definitely in order.

They took a mugshot of the Pug… or a ‘Pugshot’, if you will, to make things sound a bit lighter and funnier. The police officers in CMPD had a plan to punish the lost pug and to bring justice to what she’d done – to bring her back home to her owners.

In the meantime, she had to be punished for running away from home and was placed somewhere quiet to reflect on what she did; a holding cell. The offense was nothing serious, other than making a fuss in the neighborhood and making her owners worried.

The Pug mugshot was taken and was posted on social media in a funny way. They tried their luck at finding her real owners via social media. They had to do it this way, since they had no idea who her owner’s were.

“This is what happens when you run away from home. This guy was captured sneaking through yards on the 1300 block on New Jersey Avenue.

A lost Pug who became internet-famous in an instant.

Little did they know, the post went viral immediately and gained thousands of likes and shares on social media. The lost pug turned into an internet sensation in an instant. This definitely sped up the search for her owners, don’t you think so?

The search is over, thanks to some concerned people and to social media.

From the same interview, according to CMPD Chief Marino, social media is being used by many for this. It’s an effective way to reach out to people. It’s also a good way to get investigative leads.

He also added that someone who knows the dog’s owner had probably seen the post online and reached out to them. The post seemed to be funny to many, but it also turned out to be the best way to go about finding the lost Pug’s human companions.

The cute little wanderer was finally home, at last!

The now internet-famous pug, whose name is Bean, was successfully reunited with her owners and is enjoying home once more. We hope that she’s learned her lesson and will never run away from home ever again. Not unless she wants another visit to the police station, anyway.
