Aside from their unconditional love and loyalty, dogs are also perceptive animals.

They know when you’re in danger, if you are sad, scared, or even in pain. In fact, there have been so many cases of dogs assisting and helping people.

Aren’t dogs amazing? This is one reason dogs make excellent therapy dogs.

Meet Hazel, a Yorkie-Chihuahua-poodle mix who lives in Abilene, Texas, with her mom, Monica Burks, 48 years old.

Hazel is affectionate and smart, but she still shocked her fur mom and millions of people.

Like their usual routine, Monica instructed her smart and adorable pup to go outside and take her potty break.

After some time, Monica realized it was raining and Hazel hadn’t returned yet.

Worried, she hurriedly looked outside the window, and what she saw melted her heart.

She immediately took her phone camera and started recording.

Outside, Monica saw her dog, Hazel, guiding a kitten who was left alone in the cold street.

Hazel knew the kitten needed help and she did not hesitate to do her best for the kitten.

Even if it was raining, Hazel took the time and guided the small, cold, and weak kitten to follow her.

Hazel is brilliant, no doubt about that, but what surprised her fur mom was how she handled the situation with the tiny kitten.

It’s as if she already had puppies. Her maternal instinct had kicked in.

The caring dog continued to assist the tiny and cold kitten into their home.

In the clip, you would see Hazel constantly looking back, checking if the kitten was following her or not.

Sometimes the kitten would stop, but Hazel was a pro as she cheered the kitten to follow her.

She would go back and it’s as if she was talking to the kitten, then they would walk again.

At last, they were in front of the house, there was a little water, and the kitten had a hard time climbing the small step.

The last step of going to the house was the toughest.

Hazel had to come back and carry the kitten inside. That is where we hear Monica saying “be careful.”

Once inside, Hazel tried to dry the kitten.

“There must be something called pure love. I saw Hazel’s maternal instincts come to light,” Monica said.

Monica was more than just shocked; her puppy’s decision to take a kitten that needed help touched her.

The rain was getting heavier, yet Hazel never left the kitten’s side.

That, right there, is pure love and kindness.

Once inside, the kitten rolled on her back, as if thankful that she was now safe.

Can you imagine what would have happened if Hazel didn’t rescue the kitten?

After drying the kitten, Monica and Hazel watched the kitten’s health and cared for her until she regained her strength.

Monica named her Sheba, and Hazel agreed.

They gave Sheba to Monica’s brother, Michael.

Michael and Monica also see that Sheba and Hazel spend time together.

Their bond was already so strong, and it just keeps on getting better.
