Puppy can’t contain himself after family gets him his very own slide
Dogs bring happiness to many people, especially their owners. Some dogs seem to have a knack for making people smile.
Take Ronald Basset, for instance, a Basset hound who has been bringing happiness to his family since they got him. But there is one thing in particular that he likes to do, and that is to slide.
A goofy personality
When Ronald Basset came into her life, his mom, Emily Shiner, had no idea about the joy he would bring her and her family. Even at three months old, Ronald had a goofy personality, and as he got bigger, it just grew with him.
“Ronald is such a character,” Shiner told The Dodo. “He is absolutely obsessed with food and treats. He is very affectionate and cuddly and loves cuddles on the sofa.”
Finding a solution to a big problem

Another thing that grew with Ronald was his weight, as his family found it harder and harder to pick him up the older he got.
This was especially troublesome during cuddle time, which Ronald and his family liked to do together on the couch. Fortunately for Ronald and his family, a solution was found.
Getting Ronald his very own ramp
Ronald’s family bought him his very own ramp so that he could climb up on the couch on his own to be with them.
Everything was going as planned, and when the ramp arrived, they showed Ronald how to use it using toys and treats to lure him up and down the sloped surface.
Discovering a new use for the ramp

Ronald seemed to understand how it worked. But once he got to the top, he found a unique way down. It wasn’t just a ramp to him; it also was a slide.
Clearly, using it as a slide was way more fun.
“On the first day of him using the ramp, he decided to start sliding down, which was obviously way more fun,” Shiner said.

Now, instead of walking, Ronald slides down every time.
But who can blame him, it does look like a lot of fun? In fact, it has become his favorite thing to do. His family sure isn’t stopping him.
“It makes us laugh every single time and has been great entertainment during lockdown,” Shiner said.
Animals are smarter than we think
Ronald’s unique take on his new ramp, er slide, just goes to show how smart he really is. And the fact that he thought of the idea all on his own proves that animals are smarter than we think.
At least Ronald’s family has him around to show them that there are always new ways of doing things.
