The number of abandoned animals is ballooning and it is undoubtedly alarming.

Families are pushed to move away from their homes, sometimes with no other choice but to leave their pets behind. When these poor animals lose their forever families and home, they have nobody to depend on, other than themselves.

This little puppy is just one of those poor animals left to fend for himself.

Meet Gunnar. He was born and sadly became a part of an abandoned litter of poor puppies.

His biological mother wasn’t spayed and their heartless owner cast them all out when they were born, mama dog included.

Unfortunately, Gunnar was separated from the rest of his siblings and left with nobody beside him – just him.

We can’t even imagine the hardships that he’s gone through just to survive in this cruel world. He’s just a pup, tender, fragile, and almost helpless.

He was by himself, the rest of his family probably went to some random families and he had no idea who. At such a young age, he needed as much care as possible from a parent or a family.

Gunnar must have prayed so hard.

In a heartbreaking video, he was seen carrying a slice of bread that was bigger than his face. The poor puppy was certainly having a hard time surviving on his own.

He must’ve prayed for help to come because he got a miracle of an answer.

He was found by Sidewalk Specials who eventually brought him to Vet Point for immediate medical attention.

He was examined immediately which revealed ticks and fleas nesting all over his body.

He was also infested with worms, severely anemic because of this, and he badly needed iron infusions to bring him back to the safe line of health.

He is getting better one step at a time.

Our little hero got all the help that he needed, alongside with the love and prayers from his rescuers. He eventually became healthier.

His strong will to live, charm, and inviting aura made the staff and the people around him fall in love.

They gave him a decent and comfortable kennel where he was able to lay his tired body. He was also spoiled with a good meal, something that he probably hasn’t had for quite some time since they were abandoned.

Then, good karma knocked at Gunnar’s door.

Our little fighter puppy was found and adopted by his new forever family. By the looks of it, it seems that they genuinely love him.

He’s now getting what he deserves the most and living his new life to the fullest.

He’s also grown into a healthy pup who loves playing fetch with his new mom and he couldn’t be happier.

Gunnar may have found his forever family but an unimaginable number of homeless and shelter animals are still waiting to have the same fate as him.

Awareness should be raised a mountain-high more so that even more people will be encouraged to adopt dogs and other animals.
