The amount of joy that dogs bring into people’s lives is near impossible to measure. They’re “man’s best friend” for a reason, after all. Sometimes, though, people pay them back for their love in a cruel manner.

In fact, some dogs suffer unimaginable things at the hands of people. This is something a sweet pup named Pascal knows all too well. At only 4-months-old, he was subjected to unspeakable treatment and later left to die with his injuries.

What he went through was so unimaginable that it went viral.

Thankfully, however, his story has a very beautiful ending.

Poor Pascal was found on the brink of death with his fur fully matted and hardened. Rescuers claim that the dog was covered in industrial glue and then dragged through the dirt by children.

When Pascal was found, he was in a box and could barely move with the hardened industrial-strength glue covering his body.

A kind soul found him before it was too late.

That person brought Pascal to an Istanbul dog rescue called He’Art of Rescue. The rescue found that the poor dog was covered in a cement-like layer. He was in critical condition.

Pascal was barely able to move. Rescuers said the glue was,

“like a second skin in time and as thick as the cement, preventing blood flow to several points in his body.”

To make matters worse, Pascal was terribly frightened of people and cowered in the corner when they tried to help him.

The staff had to completely shave Pascal as close to the skin as possible.

When they did, his skin was revealed to be red and raw. Poor Pascal spent that day in complete shock and wouldn’t move.

But with the love and care from the rescue’s staff, Pascal learned to trust again after about two weeks.

He began to trust his rescuers and even made friends with other dogs at the shelter.

The photos of Pascal in his original condition were truly unbelievable and even hard to look at.

Eventually, Pascal was released from the hospital.

“This has been a big ADVENTURE for Pascal, starting with the darkest of the days, continued with an incredible BATTLE to survive, WON MILLIONS OF HEARTS ALL OVER THE WORLD and today… TODAY PASCAL FINALLY LEFT THE HOSPITAL!!!” He’Art of Rescue wrote on Facebook.

“Pascal will now remain under our close supervision in our center for a month, the time where we will assess his personality and go through the adoption application. He will learn how to be a puppy again, how to behave in a pack, and with people. He will forget the painful past!!!”

After staying at the rescue a while, his fur began to grow back in.

After a few months in recovery, his fur coat was fully restored.

And after that, Pascal was completely unrecognizable from the dog that first walked through the rescue’s doors.

Eventually, Pascal was adopted into a family of his own.

“HAPPY TIMES AFTER EVERYTHING HE WENT THROUGH FINALLY !!! PASCAL is spending the week-end with his family in Spain by the beach! Breathtaking view!” the rescue group wrote on social media.
