4-year-old girl sets up fairy garden in quarantine, neighbor sees it and pretends to be her fairy friend
For the past months since the pandemic started, most of us are quarantined at home, it’s one way of slowing down the spread of the virus and keeping ourselves away from it. Apart from the health hazards that the coronavirus can bring to people, it can also give anyone depression and anxiety which are equally dangerous as being infected by the virus itself.
During these times when tomorrow is no longer a guarantee, you’d most likely think about just surviving until this is finally over. That’s totally understandable and we can’t blame you for thinking that way.
It’s such a chaotic world out there and you’d probably find no time for a “fairytale”, don’t you? Well, you might end up finding this story a good source of happiness if not totally inspiring. This could possibly take your worries away even just for a short while.
Do you believe in fairies?
We actually do when we were still kids, wouldn’t you agree? Reading these stories on books when we’re still young, believing in creatures like dwarves, giants, and fairies.
These are still among the many wonders for a 4-year-old girl residing in Los Angeles, California. Her name is Eliana Pauls and this story of hope, kindness, and friendship will prove to us all that it’s not yet the end and that there’s still a beautiful life out there.
It all started at the beginning of the pandemic, Eliana was missing friends and neighbors. To divert the loneliness building up inside them, the lonely toddler and her parents put up a simple yet creative fairy garden outside their home.
Surprisingly, a friendly neighborhood “creature” has decided to drop by.
A fairy and a note?
For the record, she is not a real “fairy”, she is Kelly Victoria a photographer based in L.A. who also found herself trapped in the darkness of this global health crisis. She too was lonely and went through a lot of bad stuff. It’s almost safe to say that she and Eliana somehow share the same feelings.
She shared this beautiful story which is now a viral Twitter trend. She said, one night when she went out for a walk, she stumbled upon the fairy garden and saw this note:
She decided to pretend like a fairy and named herself “Sapphire”.
Victoria had a challenge to the young Eliana, which the latter gladly took on.
It then became a back and forth of letters and gifts from the two.
The two exchanged letters and simple gifts, giving each other good company. Victoria’s fairy character Sapphire has inspired Eliana and provided her with everyday joy, they formed a special bond during those long months of quarantine.
Aside from the “magical” stuff that she’s been sending the 4-year-old girl, Kelly has also made good use of her profession as a photographer. There was a point when a photo of her was asked, thankfully, she had some elf costume and items from the previous Halloween.
She photoshopped some pictures, showing Eliana a clearer image of her as a fairy.
Time to meet the fairy.
Just last month, Eliana and her family needed to move which also became their chance to finally meet each other. Victoria made up a story and told the little girl that she (as Sapphire) had to move too and for fairies to carry their belongings, one magical thing happens to them…
They also grow to the regular size of an actual human!
She planned it out together with Eliana’s parents, they choreographed their much-awaiting meeting and got tested for COVID-19 first to ensure everyone’s safety.
Sapphire was supposed to leave some gifts and letters for Eliana, while she plans not to be caught, what they really planned was the other way around. Thankfully, everything worked out as planned, the two finally had their moment together and close.
They talked for about an hour and as expected, Eliana showered Sapphire with a bunch of questions, everything that she’d been wondering about the world of fairies and things about them. Gladly, Victoria had prepared for some of these questions beforehand.
It’s a new friendship found during these difficult times.
Their beautiful story has inspired hundreds of thousands of people (if not millions), though we are certain, Eliana will soon find out the truth about Sapphire. Though that’s the case, we can’t deny the fact that these two individuals were able to spread positivity not only between themselves but also to the rest of the world.
