Quiet student enters school talent show and stuns the crowd with Ed Sheeran cover

No one was prepared for Peyton Littleton’s talent at his high school’s talent show. We all know there’s supposed to be talent at a talent show – it’s kind of implied in the title. But no one ever expected something like this.

In 2018, Littleton took the center gymnasium floor at the Central Davidson High School Talent Show for, what everyone expected would be, a typical high school performance.

While Littleton gets ready and gets his equipment set up, you can see kids in the video chatting in the background. They’re not paying him much attention.

Littleton appears unassuming. Honestly, he gave little to no indication of his talent prior to this performance. Just one 55-second video on YouTube can be found where he also does an Ed Sheeran cover – flawlessly, we might add.

Littleton takes the time to address the crowd and ensure the focus is on him. A true performer at heart. That’s not something you can teach.

Before beginning, he encourages his classmates to sing along with him since they will more than likely know the tune.

Once Littleton starts to sing Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect,” the chatter stops. Everyone is focused on Littleton.

Not only can he sing, but he can play guitar as well.

As easy as it may seem, it is not. It takes true talent to both play and sing at once.

Littleton truly lets the music do the talking for him, and it pays off. Students and staff are blown away. Frankly, we are too.

Instead of singing along, students grabbed their cellphones and emitted light in a lighter at a concert fashion. They gave Littleton the superstar treatment he clearly deserved.

While we have not seen the other performers at the talent show, it’s easy to see how Littleton took the first place. As he finished his performance, the once chatting crowd erupted with applause and cheers.

It takes real guts and talent to belt out a Sheeran song with pure perfection in front of your high school classmates.

Ed Sheeran began recording music in 2004 and moved to London in 2008 to start gigging at small venues. This sounds very familiar to the story of most musicians. He saved up enough to record some his EP.

Perfect,” came from Sheeran’s third studio album “÷” in 2017. Billboard made “Perfect” the fourth single from that album and it certainly proved to be a success. The song peaked at number one in 16 countries.

Due to the insane success of the song, Sheeran did a duet with not only Beyonce but Italian singer Andrea Bocelli as well.

Perfect also received three nominations at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards.

Sheeran’s successful song certainly didn’t hurt Littleton but didn’t take the pressure off of him either. Kudos to Littleton for tackling and perfecting such a “Perfect” song by Sheeran.
