Little kids have a beautiful way of looking at the things in life that we’re used to. To toddlers, everything is magical, from insects to bubble wrap to the weather outside.

One little girl who has melted hearts with her excited reaction to the rain is a toddler called Harper. Most people try to run away from the rain, and the majority of us are in agreement that rain is best enjoyed when we’re indoors. But not little Harper! She loves the rain so much that she much prefers to enjoy it outside, where the action is happening.

In an adorable video that was shared to YouTube, Harper can be seen in her dad’s arms, and the pair are looking out of the window at the rain. Harper’s face is lit up with excitement, especially when Dad asks the all-important question:

“Well Harper, you wanna go out in the rain? You wanna go out in the rain?”

Harper doesn’t have the words to answer yet, but her big smile says it all! Dad carries her out into the rain, and runs around with his little girl for a couple of laps of the front drive before returning to the shelter of the garage. Harper is absolutely loving it, grinning and giggling away.

But cheeky little Harper wants to go back outside again! She points to the rain and makes a noise, which dad interprets to mean “more”.

He says:

“You want more rain?”

Once again, Harper’s face breaks into a big smile, and dad agrees to go out “one more time”. You can tell she’s got him wrapped around her finger – he’d do anything for her!

Dad teases Harper, edging out of the shower while she giggles in anticipation. He says,

“We’re going to go out in the rain! We’re going to get wet.”

Of course, to Harper, nothing sounds more exciting, and so Dad breaks the suspense and hurries back outside with Harper in his arms. We can’t tell whose reaction to the rain we love more – Dad’s or Harper’s! He’s certainly got what it takes to interact beautifully with his daughter.

Back in the shelter of the garage, Harper is so overexcited by her experience that she screams and claps her hands.

So Dad takes her out again…

And again…

And again.

When it’s time to go inside, he sets her down on the floor – but Harper is on her own mission! She toddles off out into the front drive. Dad laughs and grabs her around the waist, but of course, he can’t resist taking a stroll with his bare-footed little girl if that’s what makes her happy!

With over 6.1 million views, viewers can’t get enough of the sweet bond between a dad and daughter. One viewer commented:

“I don’t know if this toddler’s reaction was to the rain or to the amazing father who was holding her. If more father’s were like you, this would be a much, much better world.”

This video serves as an important reminder: with so much going on in our busy adult lives, it’s easy to lose track of our appreciation for the basic things around us. We need to remember to act a little more like Harper and appreciate how blessed and grateful we are for everything we get to experience in life.
