Internet falls in love with “real-life Tom and Jerry” when they see mouse runs to a cat for snuggles

Cats and mice have always had a delicate relationship. After all, these felines are one of the most brutal predators and effective hunters in the world.

Basically, cats will kill anything that moves and they know they can kill. Also, cats have a lot of fun when hunting, meaning that they can do this if they feel bored.

Getting to this point, mice are the perfect prey for cats. These little rodents are fast and clever, representing an interesting challenge.

This reality has been shown not only in literature but also in different shows. In fact, people have already assumed it as some kind of rivalry in the animal kingdom.
Because of this, some of the most-watched videos on YouTube are those of cats chasing mice. In fact, several videos of this kind have become viral in less than expected.

The latest case took place a couple of months ago. The two characters in the video were a brown little mouse and an adult tuxedo cat.

The detail that caught everyone’s attention was that, at one moment, the rodent hides under the cat’s belly. It remains unclear if this was because the two of them became friends or something else. In fact, many people still speculate since this is not exactly a common situation.
Believe it or not, millions of people have watched the video, which became viral on social media. Users say that the video is some kind of real-life version of Tom and Jerry.
In the first seconds of the video, you can see the tuxedo cat chasing the brown mouse. Later, you can notice that the feline seems to lose interest. However, sometimes this is a strategy to confuse the prey and attack at the right moment.

At one moment, the feline stops chasing the rodent and lays down on the floor. And instead of escaping, the mouse runs and makes an unexpected move.
Believe it or not, the mouse decides to run as fast as possible to hide on the cat’s belly.

The cat stays there for a couple of seconds and the cat doesn’t do anything. In fact, the video ends with the cat standing up to get away and the mouse following it.

YouTube users wrote thousands of comments about this moment in particular.
A very popular speculation was that the mouse wanted some cuddles.
Of course, this possibility wouldn’t be that surprising. After, there have been several situations where a rodent’s best friend is a cat. In fact, there are several videos on YouTube where you can see this happening.
Among the different speculations, one of these has to do with toxoplasmosis. It points out that the mouse had it and it needed a cat to develop the parasite inside of it.
The video and the speculations became quite famous. In fact, different specialists also gave their opinion.
The most interesting one came from Clinical Animal Behavior Counsellor Caroline Clark. She told the British newspaper Daily Mail that it all had to do with the mouse’s irrational fear.
“From the beginning of the video, we soon see the mouse freezing (keeping still). This is a reaction to fear, but is also a strategy used by many animals to try and stop the chase in the hope that the aggressor will leave them alone. It makes no sense to put itself in danger and in my opinion, the fact that it inadvertently runs under the cat’s belly is more about it being shocked, disorientated, and therefore not thinking rationally,” Clark told the Daily Mail.
Whether the mouse wanted some cuddles or was panicking, the video is worth watching.
