Little girl melts hearts while learning tricks on her pony
Tom and Traci Davis own a horse ranch called TnT Ranch down in Weatherford, Texas. They also sell ponies on their website www.Cowboy4sale.com.
The whole Davis family loves horses and Traci’s social media often features her kids riding and exhibiting the horses in shows.
One particularly popular video shows their little girl Reata learning to mount and do some tricks on her miniature pony Houdini – and its’ been viewed a stunning 14.6 million times since she uploaded it in 2016!
That’s partly because the pair is just so darn cute (and some of us wish we had a pony of our own as a little one).
At 4 years old, Reata would look cute doing just about anything. And Houdini is a miniature pony, so he has the same thing going for them.
Still, we don’t know how so many people found the video and continued to watch it all this time!
In any case, when we first meet Reata, she’s trying to mount Houdini. And while it might not look elegant, that’s probably what we’d look like too – except she looks like she knows she’s eventually getting up there.
Since she’s showing us some tricks, we assume that when she does get up there, she means to be on the horse backward.
Still, that’s a skill level above our own.
Ta-da!
We should give Houdini some credit here as well since this pony doesn’t budge a single inch during Reata’s trick. He’s a very good boy and clearly the two have already spent some time getting to know each other.
It’s important to build trust with your pony, especially when you’re learning trick riding – the slightest movement could have led to a slip and fall.
Reata’s next trick is a 360-degree spin. She ends up facing forward, then ends up sitting backward once again.
That takes some balance!
And now she’s going for a dismount!
Off she goes to dismount from the back of the horse and stick the landing beautifully.
After climbing back on Houdini, this time facing forward, Reata executes a more elaborate dismount that involves a hanging maneuver.
And it takes some real arm and core strength (which kids just happen to magically have without really needing to work on it).
Her beginning-level tricks couldn’t be any more adorable, especially with the patient Houdini by her side.
We don’t know if her goal is to pursue this as a hobby or not, but at just 4 or 5 years old, there’s plenty of time to figure it out while still having some fun.
From the looks of it, Reata and Houdini are still at it 4 years later. Her mom is still posting videos of the pair learning new things.
If this all makes you want a tiny pony of your own, TnT Ranch just happens to have one for sale right now. His name is Zero and he’s a 10H pony that’s the perfect size for little ones should you happen to have a spare $3800.
They offer shipping!

But there’s no guarantee that you won’t want a pony when you’re done.
