Stunning redhead’s pixie-cut transformation is one for the record books
Sheba Slavic went viral in 2013 for cutting off her stunning red locks and going for an undercut/pixie style.
While she’s now rocking a bald head – and proud of it despite her insistence that she is not her hair – the original chop earned over 1.6 million viewers on YouTube. And it was stressful to watch!

Walking in with confidence
We don’t know much about the story behind the chop from the video, but we begin by seeing Sheba walk into the studio where she’ll do a short photo shoot before the transformation begins.
She greets her stylist and her team warmly before sitting down for a few “before” snaps.
Then she takes a seat to get one last look at her long locks before they come off.
Because the video is titled “beautiful redhead gets a pixie cut,” we assumed this would be all scissors.
That’s why we were pretty shocked when the stylist pulled up half of Sheba’s hair and got out the trimmer to SHAVE the sides!
Sheba doesn’t look nervous at all, but we sure were.
At this point, there’s no going back.
The transformative moment
According to her website, Sheba is “a classically-trained singer/musician versatile in pop, jazz, and indie genres” who is also trained in dance and theater. She’s now predominantly a model.
Perhaps it’s her creative background that allows her to envision the stunning end result. She doesn’t bat an eye as her hair falls to the floor.
However, in the comments of her YouTube video, she admits there was more going on inside.
“It was really scary when they started shaving my hair off on the sides,” she wrote.

No matter how cute someone’s hair comes out in the end, there’s something about getting so many inches of hair chopped off that causes anxiety – even for the people watching.
But for Sheba, it was a moment of power.
In an Instagram post, Sheba wrote:
“Seven years ago I had a transformative moment; liberating and empowering. I was able to see true, naked beauty; for the very first time. It was an incredibly profound moment. Change is gloriously powerful.”
Styling a new look
A dramatic hair change often calls for a few tweaks in a makeup routine as well.
In order to help bring the transformation to completion, the style team does a full makeup makeover on Sheba.
Freedom
In the caption of her very first Instagram post, she wrote “finally free.” And that’s how so many people feel after getting a dramatic haircut.
But Sheba seems to mean more than just saving time on styling. In fact, eventually, she ended up shaving her whole head as a way of releasing herself from the stereotypical ideals of femininity. After all, your hair doesn’t prove you’re a woman.
Normally such a video would invite rude commentary, but most of the comments are positive.
“I knew she would look great bc she has a very pretty face but WOW!!!!! You look fantastic with short hair. It brings out your features.”
While there is certainly a benefit to being as beautiful as Sheba when it comes to making a change like this, the feature that the haircut seemed to bring out most was her confidence.
