Reluctant German Shepherd Finally Befriends Small Kitten
Cartoons and movies have always depicted cats and dogs as rivals. One always seems to end up being bullied by the other which then results in pure chaos: dishes breaking, vases falling, tables and chairs shoved out of place, basically, everything falling and breaking as the two creatures tear through the place.
At least that’s how it’s seen in the films we watch and sometimes, in real life, in some households. Fortunately, this isn’t always the case.
Cats and dogs are rivals, right? That’s how we’ve always thought of them. Either one of them tries to slyly manipulate the other, or one attempts to beat the other through brute force. Most of the time, furniture is damaged, and everything is turned upside down as the two enemies rumble through the home.
That’s what we’ve always thought. But fortunately, this isn’t the case in all homes. Sometimes, it can be a different story.
It might surprise you, but some cats and dogs are great friends!
Sometimes, cats and dogs are like a match made in heaven. Especially when one of the pets is adopted. It does take some time to get to know each other.
They need to learn the personality and temperament of the other animal. But after that, daily life can be really positive between the two pets. This quirky pair is an absolute trip!
What do you do when the family brings home a new baby from the hospital? Especially if you are the oldest?
Sharing is going to be a big part of your life, and most kids don’t know what to think. That’s how Beck the German Shepherd was feeling when his family brought home Bleu the kitten.
The large canine wasn’t necessarily hostile but instead took his time getting to know the new face at home. He watched the kitten from afar day after day.
The kitten didn’t necessarily get a warm welcome from Beck, but the dog was never aggressive towards the new family member. They pretty much avoided each other.
Pretty soon, Beck got familiar and comfortable with the small kitten.
The family played a patient waiting game, and it worked! Things gradually began to build in the two pet’s relationship.
After a while, the big somber German Shepherd learned how much fun he could have if he embraced the personality of the playful kitten.
Beck went from wanting nothing to do with Bleu to having playtime with him on a daily basis.
Pretty soon, there was no personal space between the two, and the giant German Shepherd made the perfect playground for the kitten. Beck even allowed the kitten to play with his ears without a second thought!
Just like that, a wonderful friendship was born!
Their relationship kept growing, as they began games of chase, exploration, and of course, frolicking and rolling around in the grass.
Indoors weren’t much different either. The two always found different ways to play with each other and have fun.
The duo was so perfect for each other that they began sharing things, and cuddling every chance they got!
Cuddling became their favorite pastime!
We’re not sure whether Bleu wanted to warm himself up, or simply show that he loved Beck, but either way, they were both okay with the snuggles.
Sometimes the young kitten even used Beck’s legs as a whole new play toy! It isn’t hard to think that the two were a match made in heaven.
The all-star duo lives happily together in their home with their family who looks after them. Their bond still grows over time.
The two are always together. Bleu and Beck enjoy playtime, naptime, and even boring times together.
Beck is the wise, gentle one, while Bleu is busy running around and turning things upside-down.
The personalities fit like two adjacent puzzle pieces, and the owners could not be happier. The two would surely fight to protect each other as well.
It’s one of the best redemption stories in the animal world.
