Woman shares clever hack to remove creases from sneakers and people are eternally grateful
We all have prized possessions that we look after as much as we can. Whether they be jerseys, sports cards, snowglobes, etc. If you name it, there’s likely a collector for it.
One thing that is pretty common knowledge is people’s love for shoes. People wait in long lines for them and spend hundreds of dollars to buy the newest ones on the market. Some even go as far as to call it an obsession.
We all have something, right?
Aside from elegant shoes from designers such as Jimmy Choo and Michael Kors, there is one type of shoe in particular that people go crazy over.
Sneakers.
Sneakerheads are all over the world but come together for their love of sneakers and this may not be such a bad thing.
Recently, self-proclaimed sneaker lover, Shantel DĆ© Bonsu, 20, from Bexleyheath, UK, found a hack to get rid of those stubborn creases in your favorite shoes!
She was even kind enough to share the hack on her social media platforms.
Shantel sat down and spoke with Bored Panda on where her love of sneakers came from. As it often is, the reason is rooted in humble beginnings.
“When I was younger my school used to have quite a few non-uniform days and Iād always come to them with the same shoes,ā she explained. āNo one else ever did, which was hard for me because I love shoes but was never able to get as many as I wanted. So I told myself that when Iām older with some money, Iāll get myself more shoes and help those whoād like to get more shoes by sharing discount codes or simply reminding people that thereās a sale.”
Her love of shoes and all things fashion is what prompted her to start making videos for her Youtube channel.
It seems as though it has paid off. She currently has over 2,000 subscribers and counting.
She decided to share the hack with her followers after her friend let her in on the details.
Shantel says the reason she shared her friend’s hack was to help others like them, who love their sneakers.
“There are many people who love their shoes. I have shoes that I donāt really care about that arenāt expensive, eg. my work shoes or running shoes so I wouldnāt bother reviving them. But when it comes to shoes that are expensive and youāve bought for the fashion itās only right you take time to look after them so they last longer.”
The tweet has since been retweeted over 130,000 times and has nearly 350,000 likes. That is without a doubt a viral sensation.
Thus, without further ado, the hack is as follows!
Even with the stunning results from several people, Shantel admitted to receiving some negative comments.
“Thereās always that group of people in the world who have something negative to say even when what is being shown is to help you,ā she said. āIām happy with the reactions because now my name is out there a bit more and Iāve managed to help a lot of people who didnāt know about the hack and that makes me happy.”
But it looks like Shantel will be having the last laugh. The remedy has received much support and only continues to grow.
Shantel, the sneakerheads thank you!
