Reporter can't keep composure when hilarious horse steals the spotlight
Whenever we see horses, we often think of work.
They are strong, tough, and big. Being playful isn’t really the first thing you’ll think of when you encounter these great beasts of burden.
But that can’t be farther from reality. Horses, much like animals who lived alongside humans for thousands of years, can be a little curious and assertive with playtime.
A news reporter experienced how mischievous horses can get.
The news team was trying to report a piece when the horse behind the correspondent decided he wanted to be in the show.
It wasn’t specified what they were doing in the barn or what the story was about but it would seem that they are in the wrong place to do the news.
The news reporter was having a hard time from the beginning.
Whenever he tried to speak, the horse would rub its cheek against him. The stunned news reporter couldn’t do anything but laugh at the conundrum the team found themselves in.
Then, the team would start over. But whenever the correspondent says a word, the horse is back to its shenanigans. It would go on and on, with one clip repeated after the other.
All throughout their attempts for a good story, the horse played the same trick over and over.
The horse would use its chin to pull the reporter by the shoulder. At one point, the horse licked the reporter’s cheek.
We can’t really discern what the story is all about and why they had to report it close to the stable but what we do know is that only a little bit of work was done that day.
This is only one of the few ways how a horse show affection.
Loudly whining or nickering the moment a horse sees you is a good sign of your relationship with them. Horses may also trot their way over to where you are even if it’s in the middle of the fields.
They also show obvious signs of calmness if they are comfortable with your presence.
If the horse likes your presence, its body won’t be as tense. Their eyes will look a bit sleepy but it’s only because they’re relaxed.
But a playful horse isn’t always a good sign of an animal’s behavior.
Some stable managers may see horses prancing against each other in the middle of an enclosure. They’re much like dogs who wrestle. Some consider this playfulness as an avenue to release excess energy.
However, according to some experts, it can also be a sign of stress as play is also an outlet for it. Frequent playfulness can actually be a sign of being constantly exposed to stressors.
The horse in this video, however, seems to be fine.
To be honest, it’s the reporter who’s undergoing a lot of stress but he knows how to appreciate situations such as this.
We can only hope, that through this constant badgering for attention, they got to share the story they were meaning to share and that the horse stayed that happy for a very long time.
Watch how this horse teaches a reporter the real meaning of horseplay.
